We are proud to share that Freehold Borough was named a finalist for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize. In early May, the final step in the application process included a virtual site visit. Several meetings were included, but the session kicked off with the opportunity to share the Freehold Borough community story. This process incorporated the voices, both live and recorded, of 30 Freehold Borough residents and those who work to serve the community.

NJ SNAP expands to help feed residents during the pandemic
The number of people receiving food aid through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) expanded 23 percent during the pandemic, helping fight hunger when so many New Jersey residents were struggling to put food on the table.In January 2021, 815,000 New Jersey residents, including more than 360,000 children, received SNAP. A new report from Hunger Free New Jersey shows that now is the time to build on this pandemic fueled expansion so that this important nutrition support reaches all New Jersey residents who could benefit.
