Dear Friends,
One of The Caring Place's biggest blessings is our amazing volunteers. Last month we were able to celebrate them with a drive through Volunteer Appreciation Event! It was a wonderful time to see so many beloved people and shower them with our gratitude. We've created a little video to share with you all. You can see that below.
I'd also like to take a moment to share some of the amazing things volunteers have done for The Caring Place this past year even when we were limiting capacity:
- Sorted & priced items for our thrift stores at home
- Sent our staff encouraging notes
- Wrote thank you cards to our donors
- Shared information with the community
- Restarted volunteer positions, sometimes in new roles
- Donated items and made financial contributions
Through it all, our volunteers have been there for us and we were thrilled to spend one afternoon cheering for them. They are very special people around here!
Blessings,
Ginna O'Connor, Executive Director

What's #FoodieFriday?
Have you ever received food from The Caring Place Food Pantry and thought, "What do I do with this?" It's so important for us to give families in need healthy and diverse options, but also foods families will eat! Our friends/volunteers at Scurlock Farms have begun a video series highlighting some of the wonderful produce, proteins and pantry items that have been given in The Caring Place Food Pantry drive through this year. Their quick videos, released to our Facebook page on Fridays, will give you a glimpse into the foods families receive in our drive through, as well as recipe ideas to make healthy choices. You can find the entire playlist of recipes on our website at caringplacetx.org/getfood. To get your taste buds ready, here's the latest video using butternut squash!
