Summer Registration Update


Summer Programming starts Monday, July 6th!

Although we are unable to move forward with all of our previously scheduled summer programming, we are happy and excited to provide some activities and programs to get you active, engaged and having FUN!  Click HERE  for a complete list of Summer Offerings. Are you already enrolled in a summer activity with the WAWM RCS Department? If so, please be sure to check out our COVID-19 Reopening Plan HERE for program specific information. Plans were created using recommendations from the West Allis Health Department, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Department of Children and Families, and the Centers for Disease Control.

Family Drive-In Movie Night


Irving Elementary

Join the WAWM RCS Department for our very first Family Drive-In Movie Night.  We will be showing a family-friendly movie on a video display screen.  For the movie title, please contact the WAWM RCS Department at 414-604-4900 starting Monday, July 6th.  We will be able to begin the movie at 7pm with the use of a video screen.  Enjoy a FREE movie and quality family time at our Family Drive-In.

To ensure a safe experience while visiting the Family Drive-In Movie Night, we have the following guidelines for the evening.

Parking Guidelines
  • Our maximum capacity during COVID-19 pandemic will only be 50 vehicles. 
  • Please arrive 45 minutes prior to showtime 
  • Vehicles will be parked on a first come, first served basis.
  • The Video screen will be displayed on the lower Playground at Irving Elementary.   Please enter the Drive-In using W. Grant Street and 104th.
  • Designated Staff will indicate where to park, please follow their instructions.
  • Large vehicles will be parked in a designated area.

General Guidelines

  • Sick?  Please stay home.
  • Face Masks Welcome.   Face Coverings for safety are encouraged when guests leave their vehicles. (Restrooms)
    • You must stay within the confines of your vehicle as much as possible.  Chairs in front of your vehicle or in the back of your vehicle may be used while maintaining social distancing.  You may also sit in the bed of your truck or in the back of your vehicle with the hatch open.
  • Social Distancing.  Please maintain 6 (six) feet distance between others.
  • Restrooms are available inside the fieldhouse.  Social distancing applies.  You may be asked to wait outside if capacity of the restroom is reached or if cleaning is underway.
  • No Pets
  • No Smoking, Including e-cigarettes and facsimiles.
  • No Alcohol

Early Childhood 


3-5 year olds.  Come Join the Funtastic Fun class on Tuesday, July 14th Bugs, Bugs, Bugs a one hour class from 10:45-11:45am.  

A great way to have your child enjoy learning about different BUGS!

Want some other great classes for your early childhood member of the household?  Here are some other fantastic classes that will be fun and exciting for your child.

Totworks (3-5 yr olds) -- Thursdays, July 23 to August 20th 10:45-11:45am-- Hands on activities to keep your child engaged as they practice skills such as letters and number recognition, shapes, sorting, cutting and pasting, fine motor skills.

Nature Explorers (2-4 yrs w/adult) - Wednesdays, July 22-August 19th, 10-10:45 am -- Collecting and sorting items found in nature, making animal prints, using magnifying glasses and creating nature crafts

Pint Size Picassos -- (3-5 yrs) - Thursdays, July 23 to August 10th, 5:30-6:15 pm -- Painting on ceramics, rocks, bricks, tiles, etc.  Promoting creative development and strengthening motor skills.

Play with Playdough -- (2-4 yrs w/adult) - Tuesdays, July 21-August 18th, 9:30-10:15 am-- Learning and creating with playdough.  Let's make the mess here at class and not at home.

Adult Enrichment

Check out the new VIRTUAL offerings the WAWM RCS Department has in store for this summer.  Some offerings have been re-formatted to be held virtually and we also have some brand new offerings.  Click below to see what we have going on this summer!   

We will be using Zoom to connect virtually with you from the comforts of your own home.  Not familiar with Zoom, not a problem!  We are happy to help you connect by sending you a tutorial video to help you navigate the program.  Our classes will be secured with a password that will be emailed out to participants at least 1 Business Day prior to the first class date.
