Join us for a Bible study, led by Renda Brinson. We meet on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in Room 210 and on Zoom. Opportunities to Serve

Volunteer at Rama Fest

Rama Road Elementary PTA is hosting RamaFest on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. They have many opportunities for volunteers at the festival. One of the PTA's main missions is to foster community connections, and this is their premier event. There will be bouncy house rides, games, raffles, food trucks, and music. Trunk or Treat Volunteer Opportunity

Pumpkinpalooza is October 29 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and we need YOU to help with Trunk or Treat! You don't need to be artistic or even creative. Just buy some candy, open up the trunk of your car, and enjoy all the smiles and joy on the faces of neighbors from all over our community. You can sign-up to become a trunk or treat volunteer here.

9:00 Worship AV Volunteer Sign-ups Open

We are looking for volunteers to join the AV and tech team for our 9:00 Contemporary Worship service. We need one volunteer each Sunday to help advance slides and assist with other easy AV and tech support tasks. Our Technical Arts Coordinator, John Nipe, will provide instructions and training. Click here to sign-up for a Sunday (or two)!

Volunteer in the Nursery

The nursery is open for both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services and we need your help to keep it running smoothly! We're so excited about our brand new nursery location, the former Resource Room next to the Adult Library, and hope that you'll check it out! Sign up to volunteer here! Contact Sarah Dianne Jones with any questions.

Pastor Appreciation Month Spotlight on Rev. Allysen Schaaf

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! We will be highlighting a member of our pastoral team in The Communicator each week. This week, the spotlight is on our Associate Pastor for Contemporary Worship and Community Building, Rev. Allysen Schaaf. If you’d like to share a note of appreciation for Allysen, please click here.

Allysen was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and lived there until moving to Thomasville, NC in 6th grade. When she was in elementary school, she wanted to be a Forensic Scientist or Marine Biologist. Her first job was working as an office assistant at Thomas Built Buses (where her dad worked as Director of Sales for North America). Allysen loves to be creative whether it be with water colors, poetry or pie dough. She especially loves to decorate pies with festive designs for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Decorating pies is what she is known for among her friends! You may be surprised to know that Allysen used to be a certified personal trainer and lead all kinds of exercise classes from women’s weight classes and boot camp to exercise classes with seniors. She also used to volunteer her time in the Physical and Occupational Therapy section of the hospital and work with their summer camp for kids with Cerebral Palsy.

CROP Walk Fundraising Goal within Reach!

28 Sardis members of all ages joined other

Charlotte community members at Memorial

Stadium for a beautiful afternoon of raising

awareness of the hunger that exists locally, nationally and internationally. Fellowship

Ministry provided a pizza lunch to energize the walkers, the children made posters and several participants boarded a church bus for the ride downtown. Thank you for sharing God’s love though your financial

donations. You have graciously contributed $5,000 so far! We will continue to take donations until Nov. 1, so there is still a chance to see Joe B. wearing the Sardis Super Sneaker costume when we reach our $8,000 goal. If you would like to

donate you can do so online through our team page or through Sardis. Or you can mail a check made out to Sardis Presbyterian with "CROP Walk" in the memo line.

Music Ministry Poinsettia Sale Fundraiser

The Sardis Sanctuary Choir is again selling Christmas poinsettias as a fundraiser, and we are asking for your support. The plants, obtained from Kings, will be gorgeous and will make a nice holiday addition to your home or a wonderful gift to a friend. Funds raised will be used for special musicians and other special music presentations.
