THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HAS STEPPED UP TO HELP ON ALL OUR EVENTS. It is going to be a great year with the Spokane Association of Realtors Members. Gina Sicilia Mosey (Events Committee chair)
2022 SAR committees have begun meeting and planning new products, services, and events for this year.

The photo shows the Events Committee meeting this week, convened in hybrid format - both in-person at the SAR and virtually online.

Among the member events being planned for this year are the annual and always popular golf tournament, food drive, and luau on the bluff.

Event details will be shared here in the Weekly Notices as each event nears.

If you missed the call for committee volunteers last year, it's not too late to start now!

Whether your passion is events, technology, communications, or many others, there's a seat for you at a committee table.

2022-2024 Strategic Plan

Your association begins the year with a brand-new Strategic Plan (pictured above) meant to guide the SAR for the next two years.

This plan was developed at a leadership retreat back in November.

It adds statements on values and vision, neither of which we've had before.

Member Engagement
Key to the success of any professional association is engagement by its members. No one knows the streets better than those who walk them every day.

2022 Spokane Association of REALTORS® president Eric Etzel shares how member engagement helps you grow your business, save you time, makes you money - and represents your interests as a REALTOR® in Washington state.

The video runs two minutes:
What’s Happening in Olympia
HB 1951 - Following a Statewide REALTOR® Call-to-Action that generated over 4,000 emails, a scaled back version has been advanced out of committee. The new version no longer removes the don’t know box, and does not remove the actual knowledge standard- that is the good news. The bad news is that it adds the following question to Form 17 “Is there any damage to the property from animals, including urine, feces, or other waste; chewing on wires or siding of a main structure; or digging”.

HB 2059 – Washington REALTORS® backed bill that would ban Love Letters bill made it out of committee and looks to have a good shot at passage.

HB 1782/SB 5670 – BOTH Middle Housing inventory bills made it out of Committee but are moving slower.

Black Home-ownership Webinar
Tuesday, February 15th
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
The Washington REALTORS® DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) Committee is hosting the National Association of Real Estate Brokers' Washington State President Nicole Bascomb to discuss Black Homeownership programs, partnerships and ways REALTORS® can support breaking barriers to homeownership.
Take the Washington REALTORS®
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pledge
Washington REALTORS® is dedicated to the work of equity and inclusion.

Our association is an acknowledged national leader in developing programs and policies to increase access to home-ownership for communities of color.

Like many states, Washington must reconcile a history of unfair housing practices, including redlining and unfair lending practices that left many people of color unable to access the dream of home-ownership.

We remain committed to this work, we acknowledge that it is ongoing, and we invite accountability and discussion to help us carry out this work more thoughtfully and effectively.

Take the Washington REALTORS® Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion pledge to earn an NAR Fair Housing lapel pin and recognition on the Washington REALTORS® website.
Take all three DEI education opportunities below, then complete the DEI Pledge form.

All successful participants will receive an NAR Fair Housing Lapel Pin and recognition on the Washington REALTORS® website.
