Are you interested in becoming a presenter for PBSA conferences but haven't taken the first steps yet?

PBSA is looking for new presenters to become part of the team of volunteers who share their industry knowledge and experience. We want to encourage participation across the membership and create more opportunities for everyone to be contributing to our collective knowledge. The Educational Resources Committee and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee are considering potential programs to increase participation across our membership. Such potential programs might include pairing up new volunteers with an experienced co-presenter, or other support methods. If you are interested in presenting but have not previously done so, please email [email protected]. We'd like to hear more about how we can support you in your presenting career.

Why Present for PBSA?

Presenting a conference session provides tremendous benefit to you, your employer and brand, and PBSA. You will increase your presentation skills, build your resume as a speaker, earn recognition from your peers, work alongside industry experts, and give back to the profession. If you are looking to capture a wider audience, increase your brand recognition as a subject matter expert, and expand your portfolio, presenting sessions is an excellent avenue to pursue.

Session Topics and Guidelines

We're looking for a variety of topics, including, but not limited to:
  • FCRA compliance and developments
  • Federal and state law compliance
  • Global screening
  • Business practices (HR processes, growth & development)
  • Technology (IT, Information Security, AI, Blockchain, etc.)
  • Tenant screening

  • Timely topics on what is impacting the industry right now
  • Professional Development

Sessions should be designed to educate attendees working within the background screening industry and be geared toward foundational or advanced level learning. Consider the level of detail you will be providing and how in-depth your session will be.

Your presentation and discussions should keep all audiences in mind and ensure nothing is presented which would advantage one member over another.
