PROJECT LOCATION:
The intersection of Vermont Route 116, Shelburne Falls Road and CVU Road in the town of Hinesburg.
PROJECT SCOPE:
Construction activities include road widening on VT Route 116, Shelburne Falls Road and CVU Road for the addition of new turn lanes and replacement of the existing traffic signal. Culverts on Route 116, Ballards Corner Road, Shelburne Falls Road and Pleasant View Lane will be replaced as part of the project.
As part of Governor Scott’s “
Work Smart, Stay Safe
” order, all construction crews are currently subject to certain safety restrictions.
There is a possibility that crews will work on
Saturday, 8/1
until early afternoon. Work will be concentrated on the southwestern portion of Route 116. A one-way alternating traffic pattern may be in place at times, and brief delays can be expected.
Planned construction activities, week of 8/3/20:
I
nstallation of erosion control/environmental protection measures in various areas of the project will be ongoing as necessary.
The contractor will continue road widening efforts on the southwest side of Route 116. This section of widening should be completed early next week.
Installation of the 8” waterline on the northwest side of Route 116 (near the Community Bank) will take place next week.
Route 116 north of intersection will have no shoulders, and the temporary lane shifts will remain in place for approximately one month.
Traffic Impacts:
Although the main portion of next week's work will occur off of the travel lanes, single lane/alternating one-way traffic should be anticipated on all roads around the intersection next week. Delays should be minimal.
Traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist with the flow of traffic.
