sacred sanctuary moments

The last time we were able to use our building together was over five months ago. We miss seeing you, and we’re sure you miss being together in our sanctuary! We are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to join a member of the clergy in the main sanctuary for a few moments in front of the Ark and a special New Year’s blessing.

Sign-up for a ten-minute slot here. Masks and social distancing will be required at all times. Only members living in the same household may sign up for a slot together.

Tuesday, August 25

Church of Christ
social action committee
In conjunction with upcoming August 26 lunch & learn on the mitzvah of voting, we've coordinated virtual voter registration drives:

Sunday, August 23 2:00 - 3:30 pm

Sunday, August 30, 2020 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Stay tuned for more info on how to register, or email Maddy Fleisher once registration is open. All you need is an internet connection and a phone; an LWV staff member will start everyone off with 30 minutes of training via Zoom, then LWV's "Thru-Talk" system will handle dialing to connect you by phone with people to make sure they're registered to vote and ready to go for the election.
Meanwhile, you can always visit 411.org if you need up-to-date information on voting this November!
Sunday, October 18 at 7:00 pm via Zoom
Sign-up for the event, purchase a tribute ad, or make a donation in Cantor Chomsky's honor. The Spotlight Committee will be hosting an online auction and is looking for items to be donated, including:
  • Autographed Music/Sports Memorabilia
  • Art Pieces
  • Restaurant Certificates
  • Hotel & Vacation Home Packages
  • Event Packages
  • Group Beer/Wine Tastings
  • Tickets To Sports Events (This can be for future dates down the road.)
  • Jewelry
  • Other items that would be of interest to congregants

If you have an item to donate, please email Cindy Levy. Additionally, if you know a person or a business whom you believe would be willing to donate, please contact Mark Rosenson

hospitalizations
In-person hospital visits are not possible at this time and most area hospitals have stopped sharing their patient census information with us, at least for the time being. As a result, we are relying on our members to let us know if they, a loved one, or a friend has been hospitalized. Please contact Rabbi Skolnik at 614-928-3297
or Rabbi Braver at 614-928-3294 with this information. Thank you for your help and patience as we continue to support each other through this very challenging time.
