TEEN PROGRAMMING BEGINS

Teens had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Natural History in NYC on October 5th. We can all remember our first trip to see the Blue Whale in the Hall of Ocean Life!

Our Teen Center's Chill n Grill Cookout at Abendroth Park on October 12 was a great outdoor social event for our teens. Teens enjoyed outdoor sports and a barbecue lunch.
RETAIL RECOVERY PROGRAM BRINGS MORE FOOD TO CARVER

Carver Center is piloting a new retail recovery program through Feeding Westchester. We are picking up approximately 1,300 pounds of food from retail locations, 3x a week. Our stores included Stop & Shop in Mamaroneck and Trader Joe's in Scarsdale. (Pictured left is Eucebio Chavarria, Carver team member.)

Through this program, we are able to provide 40% more food to the growing number of people who are coming to our Carver Market.
SPROUT CREEK BAKERY DONATION BY JIMMY THE BAKER

Sprout Creek Bakery is a labor of love for its owner, Jimmy Tanico, aka Jimmy the Baker. He recently donated 1,523 lbs. of crumb cakes to Carver. During the month of August, Sprout Creek donated approximately 3,500 lbs. of baked goods. Having learned how to bake from his mom, we understand why his slogan is, "Like my mother, I will not rest until you reach for seconds." Thanks, Jimmy!
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW US CITIZENS

Carver Center celebrated our Citizenship Program graduates at a special event on Friday, October 14.

We were joined by many of our graduates, their families and our elected officials including County Executive George Latimer, NYS Senator Shelley Mayer, NYS Assemblyperson Steve Otis, County Legislator Nancy Barr (represented by Debbie Friedman), County Legislator Catherine Parker, Village Trustee Joan Grangenois-Thomas, and Congressman Mondaire Jones (represented by Joan Grangenois-Thomas).

All graduates represented obtained their US Citizenship since courts reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic closures.
DINNER @ NOON TREATS

Our Dinner @ Noon guests will see an array of Halloween-themed table tents on their tables during the month. Greenwich Academy 8th graders created them for us.

Volunteers from the Community Synagogue of Rye were helping our program this past Saturday. Thanks for bringing your warm smiles and helping hands to this well-attended event!
CHILDREN'S HOPE CHEST,
YOU DID IT AGAIN!

Our wonderful community partners at Children's Hope Chest ran a very successful food drive at the DeCicco & Sons store in Armonk. 400 lbs. of food was donated from shoppers. Thanks CHC for all you do to help feed our community!
REMEMBER YOUR FIRST BIKE?

Thanks to Christian Calzolano, an Eagle scout with the Port Chester/Rye Book Boy Scouts, who donated 20 bikes for his scout project and Linking Handlebars, Danny Cycles and the Westchester Cycle Club, 156 new bikes were given to a very happy group of children this past Saturday.
CARVER CENTER IS TURNING 80 IN 2023!

It's going to be a great and memorable night!
