Shared Plate Recipient for April 2021
Native Animal Rescue (NAR)
Native Animal Rescue (NAR) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife in Santa Cruz County. They work tirelessly to increase human understanding and respect for wildlife and their habitats by educating our human neighbors on the benefits of coexisting with our wild neighbors.
NAR is an organization of expert rehabilitators who are trained to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate, and release wild animals back to the wild in accordance with California Department of Fish and Wildlife standards, they also receive and care for distressed wild animals brought to them by concerned citizens. They also work closely with veterinarians to medically treat and rehabilitate injured, sick, and oiled wildlife to provide care for them until they can be safely released back into the wild.
This year they are celebrating 40 years of serving our community all from their humble shelter, a former family home, on 17th avenue.
