Benefits of Boron Nitride

Boron Nitride is often referred to as “white graphite”. It is a non-abrasive, white powder, with a hexagonal plate crystal structure similar to graphite, but with a much higher oxidation resistance at 800ºC. Boron nitride (BN) is an advanced ceramic material that can be easily machined into customized complex shapes.

Boron Nitride ceramic components are made by a hot press sintering process from densification of powder to a lubricious white solid. It exhibits a hexagonal structure and a unique combination of chemical, electrical, mechanical and thermal properties, making it suitable for a wide range of high performance industrial applications, often at extremely high temperatures.

Boron Nitride (BN) can be machined into close tolerance, complex parts which, after machining, are ready to use without heat treatment or firing.

Boron Nitride is most commonly produced as a hot pressed solid which orients during pressing, yielding a hexagonal and platy crystal structure.

Anderman Industrial Ceramics can reliably supply BN Ceramics. Considerable sales growth, to multiple industry sectors, has been witnessed in recent years.

Applications include insulator components for high temperature electrical furnaces, crucibles and nozzles for metal melting, bespoke customer shapes for powder metallurgy and high temperature vacuum furnaces.

In addition to Boron Nitride, Anderman Industrial Ceramics also offers many other types of industrial ceramic materials for use in furnace applications.
