A Message from the CEO...

Got my flu shot last week. Going to get boosted again for COVID this week. During the first part of November, I’m going to get my second shingles shot…sigh…I feel like a pin cushion. BUT - I’d rather have a sore arm than be sick. I’m a bad sick person. Every time I cough, I assume the most awful possible illness (at least the black plague, if not worse). Ben Franklin wisely said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Yep - I agree.

ISH CEO Steve Simonin Receives IRHA Award

Congratulations to our President and CEO, Steve Simonin! At the annual business meeting of the Iowa Rural Health Association, Steve was honored with its annual Jerry Karbeling Award for rural health leadership.

The award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated successful activism for improving rural health and a commitment to community service. It was noted that Steve has done just that over his 26 years leading the hospitals in Wright County and a network of clinics across Central and North Central Iowa.

On behalf of everyone at Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics, we are so proud of you and thank you for doing such a wonderful job steering our ship!

October is National Pharmacy Month

National Pharmacy Week, which this year is celebrated from October 16th through the 22nd, is an opportunity for us to celebrate our ISH Pharmacy team members who raise the bar for patient care.

We recognize their powerful impact on patient lives and bring awareness to the vital role pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy colleagues play as part of the larger care team.
