Dear Tuesday's Children Families, Supporters and Friends,

It seems like only yesterday we were saying it feels like March 91 st and, in the blink of an eye, now the summer is in full swing. Tuesday's Children has also been in "go-mode" having held over 30 programs on virtual platforms since mid-March. We have really enjoyed creating new offerings for the families we serve, given this unique environment that we find ourselves in. Please check out some of these new programs below.

During these challenging times, I hope that all are able to grab relaxing, family time and appreciate all that we have to be grateful for whether it's a day at the beach, a walk in the park or taking in a particularly beautiful sunset.

Hoping all have a festive, fun and safe 4 th of July weekend!
Terry

Runner Spotlight: Kevin Parks

"Tuesday's Children has done so much for me," said Kevin Parks, an active member of our Board of Directors. "It's part of who I am." What's the other part, you may ask? Well, that would have to be running. Kevin has merged his passions by running for Team Tuesday's Children, making each mile matter.

Unfortunately, that number of "official" races might be fewer this year due to our world's current situation. (Kevin was planning on running for Team Tuesday's Children once again in November's 2020 TCS New York City Marathon, but the event was recently cancelled.) Despite the setbacks and disappointment, Kevin hasn't slowed down. In fact, he said running during this uncertain time is more of a release than a training obligation. When New York was under strict quarantine these past few months, running was the only excuse for him to go outside.

Kevin's eagerness to pound the pavement is rooted in his long history with Tuesday's Children. Kevin and his sister lost their father on 9/11 and found comfort through the community provided by Tuesday's Children. Aside from running, Kevin gave back to the organization by serving as a Youth Mentor to another surviving 9/11 child.

In addition to his personal efforts, Kevin encourages others to give back to the organization that gave him so much. "The easiest ask I make of my friends is to donate each year," said Kevin. "Every single one of them steps up."

How will you step up for Tuesday's Children? Whether you pull out your wallet or slip on your sneakers, you can provide a lifetime of healing for families who have been forever changed by terrorism, military conflict or mass violence.

Mentoring Match Anniversaries

We are thrilled to acknowledge two of our youth mentoring pairs who are celebrating their one- and two-year match anniversaries in June. We are so proud of the bond they've built and the way they continue to connect virtually in these unchartered times.
Liana and Kate - 6/7/19

The pair bonded quickly over a mutual love of dining out, animals, art and shopping. They haven't missed a beat during these unprecedented times and continue to connect via FaceTime.
Skyler and Andrea - 6/18/18

In their two years together, the duo have formed a friendship over yoga, herbal tea and countless hours of bonding. Andrea says, "Skyler's endless energy, vivacious personality and entertaining stories never cease to amaze me."
