November 16th – International Day for Tolerance – In 1996, the UN General Assembly proclaimed November 16th as International Day for Tolerance. This action followed the adoption of a Declaration of Principles on Tolerance. Among other things, the Declaration affirms that tolerance is neither indulgence nor indifference. It is respect and appreciation of the rich variety of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. Tolerance recognizes the universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of others.
National Caregivers Month – The month of November celebrates the millions of Americans who provide essential care and medical assistance to their loved ones. These acts of love, commitment, and compassion enable their family members to receive the support they need to live a life with dignity. This month thanks all that our nation’s caregivers do to provide that invaluable care.
