IT'S ABOUT TIME WE READ THE LABEL!!!

Go through this post to know which harmful chemicals to watch out for and how it puts you at risk.

It's time we found out the truth about the products we use, so we don't dare risking our health.

Truth or dare?

TRUTH: Our armpits are designed to release toxins through perspiration! Our natural deodorants do not block your pores so you can naturally sweat without the bad odor, plus infused plant-based oils that nourish and smoothen your skin.

DARE: Aluminium used by antiperspirants increase your risk to kidney diseases (we're meant to sweat, people!), while the alcohol and synthetic fragrances darken you r armpits and contribute to hormonal and reproductive health disorders.

TRUTH: Your scalp has natural oils that are good for your hair! They don't need to be washed off! Our genuinely natural shampoos are made with plant-based ingredients and coconut-derived surfactants that gently cleanse the scalp while still nourishing the hair, keeping your natural oils where they should be. We don't need to imitate natural ingredients with synthetic ones, because we know that nat ural is the way to go!

DARE: Many shampoos "green-wash" their bottles. They use "organic" and "natural" claims by infusing their product with minimal natural ingredients but still mix them with harsh, chemical ones! Most still have SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) in their ingredients list. These sulfates are surfactants-a glorified term for detergents-which cause shampoo to lather well.

Sulfates get rid of any oil build up on the hair, also taking away natural oils that leave it rough and dry. Watch out for parabens (listed with the prefixes ethyl-, methyl-, propyl-, isopropyl-, butyl- or isobutyl-), too, a preservative that is directly linked to unbalance in hormones. Your shampoo may be "good" to your senses because of its color and scent, but be careful! Some specific colorants and synthetic fragrances are found out to potentially cause cancer and health sensitivities. YIKES!

TRUTH:  Brushing your teeth leaves residue of the products you use in your mouth! Our toothpaste is made of natural, vegetable-derived ingredients with NO colorants and optic brighteners, giving you naturally healthy and cleen teeth that don't just look strong, but truly are.

DARE: Many synthetic toothpastes contain ingredients that whiten the teeth but also scratch its surface, causing enamel damage. Some synthetic abrasives on your toothpaste ingredients list are aluminum hydroxide, calcium hydrogen phosphates, zeolites, and hydroxyapatities. Not to forget triclosan, an anti-bacterial compound commonly found in household products.

It is banned in soaps in the US but is still widely used in other personal care products including toothpastes. Since we do not spit out all residue after brushing our teeth, triclosan can be absorbed through the lining of the mouth. These exposures have resulted in skin irritation, and an increase in allergic reactions, especially in children.
TRUTH:  Our skin is the largest part of the body, and needs daily cleansing for proper care and nourishment. All our bodywashes are infused with genuinely natural fruit-based ingredients to perfect the scents we carry. There are no harmful chemicals, and we make sure that our coconut-derived surfactants cleanse the skin thoroughly, while keeping it hydrated and safe, without the risk of synthetic fragrance side-effects.

DARE: Fragrance is one of the popular marketing tools used by other brands to sell their bodywashes. But did you know that if the ingredient is vague, it's probably hiding something? "Fragrance" could actually be a cocktail of chemicals that you'd never know about.

The FDA doesn't require companies to disclose the breakdown of a fragrance's ingredients to consumers because the chemicals that produce fragrance are considered "trade secrets." Most of the time, synthetic chemicals and cancer-causing toxins (like phthalates, used to make fragrances last longer) are hiding under that one sneaky term. Constant exposure to synthetic fragrances has been shown to negatively impact the central nervous system and can trigger allergies, migraines, and symptoms of asthma.
