WHAT'S NEW
HOW TO TALK TO KIDS ABOUT RACE / CÓMO HABLAR DE RAZA CON LOS NIÑOS
We are so excited to announce this program! Join us for How to Talk to Kids About Race on July 16 at 6:00pm.Talking to kids about race is more important now than ever, but sometimes it feels overwhelming to know where to start. Writers and activists Leta McCollough Seletzky and Cara Meredith, who are both in interracial marriages and raising mixed-race children, are passionate about teaching parents and caregivers how to enter into conversations of race. Through an interactive presentation that is equal parts informational and invitational, audiences will walk away with the necessary tools to engage with the children in their lives today. Register for the online zoom program here.

HOTSPOTS NOW AVAILABLE
In the fall of 2017, with support from the Redwood City Library Foundation, the Library launched the Bridging the Digital Divide program to allow home checkout of hotspots (personal Wi-Fi devices) to support residents with limited or no connectivity at home. We are happy to announce that hotspots are now available to check out through our Curbside Pick-up service! Simply call 650-780-7018, ext. 4, or email [email protected] to reserve a hotspot. When one is available, it will be checked out to your library account for pickup within three curbside service days.
NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS
Thank you so much to each and every one of you who came to the Friends of the Redwood City Public Library's first donation event! Also a big thank you to everyone for following our safety protocol by wearing masks and keeping your distance.

Due to overwhelming response we had to finish the event 2 hours earlier than expected because we simply ran out of space. According to library protocol all items have to be quarantined for 72 hours before we can handle them.  Besides selling your donations via our Amazon bookstore we have some other ideas how to make our books accessible for purchase for our Redwood City Community, so stay tuned.

Our next donation event is happening on July 11, time to be determined. We are looking for new or like new books. To learn more, follow us on Facebook, Instagram or visit our website here
