"Nine years ago, I met Mari Guzman when our sons started preschool in the same class. I met Jennifer Dresser five years ago when our daughters started kindergarten together. We have become friends through our children and have many shared experiences, including our diagnoses of breast cancer. All three of us were diagnosed with the same kind of breast cancer. We were all diagnosed at the same hospital at a young age (between 37 and 42). We are also all daughters of breast cancer survivors.” Despite the support Rhonda had from her friends who understood exactly what she was going through, she still relied on Sharsheret’s support and resources. Sharsheret's Peer Support Network is made possible with support from Genentech.

Bring Care Kits To Your Community
Over the past several months, several Chicago-area day schools, high schools, and synagogues have put together Care Kit drives for local cancer centers. Each group collected hundreds of brand new items that were packaged into more than 500 care kits delivered to women going through chemotherapy treatment at Northwestern memorial hospital, Kellogg Cancer Center Evanston, Kellogg Cancer Center Highland Park, and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The packages included sucking candies, fuzzy socks, hand lotion, Sudoku books, eye masks, and other items that are helpful for women undergoing chemotherapy.
