IAM

Thank You Open House

From 3 – 6 p.m. Friday, November 18th.

IAM staff members will give tours of our vital crisis services facility at 310 Freeman Street. Several of IAM’s Planned Giving Committee members, estate attorney Adam Shealy from Gilreath Shealy Law firm and financial manager Dwayne Powell, from Baird Private Wealth Management, will be available to answer your questions about how to include IAM in your estate planning and through charitable trusts.

Hearts, Hands, & Hope Circle

You can also sign up to continue being a sustaining donor to IAM or become one by joining our Hearts, Hands & Hope (H3) Circle. Anyone who gives $1,000 or more a year and can commit to giving that much or more for three to five years will become an H3 Circle giver.

IAM will provide light appetizers and beverages for attendees. If you cannot attend Nov. 18th, look for a letter later this month inviting you to join our H3 Circle.

Thank you for blessing IAM with your financial gifts! For more information, call Diana Spitzer at 828-697-7029.

All of us at IAM wish you and your family a happy and blessed Thanksgiving season!

We are incredibly thankful for the encouragement you provide IAM and all the compassionate support you provide to our neighbors in need!

Job Openings

Thank you, MANNA Foodbank!

IAM's partnership with MANNA FoodBank in Asheville is a blessing that helps sustain our efforts to combat food insecurity in Henderson County. And this month was even more special than usual! Jacob, Glenda, and Rose arrived with a check for $53,789, a CARES Act 2020 and 2021 pandemic expense refund. Just in time for the hectic holiday season when so many of our neighbors have extra needs.

Consider IAM for your Planned Giving

A valued way of supporting IAM for the long-term future, without impacting a donor's immediate cash flow, is to include IAM in your will or to name IAM as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy that is no longer needed.

Other methods of Planned Giving include Charitable Gift Annuities such as Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Lead Trusts.

Consult your attorney, estate planner or the Community Foundation of Henderson County regarding these options.

Celebrating

Your Generous Donations!

IAM is grateful to St. James Episcopal Church for their donation of 141 lbs. of food and pantry items this week! We are entering our busiest time of the year and the continued support of our faith communities is essential to achieving our mission. Thank you!

We love Tuesdays at IAM! That is the day when Jana shows up with her tasty homemade baked treats for the staff. Delicious and made with such love! Jana has been with IAM as a volunteer for nearly 13 years. She was also a key member of the skeleton crew who was able to work through COVID in 2020. We love you, Jana!

Happy Birthday to Asher who turned four years in October and celebrated his birthday by collecting food for our neighbors in need at his party! Because of his generous spirit, IAM has another 151 lbs. of food to share with our neighbors. Thank you, Asher and happy birthday! We are so grateful to you.

Great thanks to Agudas Israel Congregation for their recent donation of 600 lbs. of food collected during their Food Drive for IAM. Our Food Assistance Department Manager, Tom Stark, met with Rabbi Rachael Jackson to pick up the food. If your faith community, neighborhood, business, or civic organization would like to organize a food drive for IAM, you can find our current needs at https://www.iam-hc.org/current-needs. Thank you!
