The Pierobon Family owns and operates Luckmarr Plastics, Inc. and Accutek Mold & Engineering, Inc. from four facilities located on Stanley Drive in Sterling Heights. At the Feb. 15 City Council meeting, Sterling Heights Mayor and City Council passed a resolution recognizing and congratulating the Pierobon Family on reaching the milestone of 45 years of successful business operations.

Luckmarr Plastics is a full-service, high-volume, custom injection molder, with the capability to develop a design from a concept to a finished product. Luckmarr Plastics can produce almost any injection molded plastic part you can imagine. Using the ISO 9001:2015 quality system, Luckmarr Plastics personnel are trained for complex tasks such as light assembly and fabrication in the automotive, OEM and sporting good markets.

Luckmarr Plastics’ continues to rely upon the in-house talent of Accutek Mold and Engineering, Inc., formerly known as Luckmarr Tool & Mold Company, for designing, machining and repairing all tools, which is essential to the company’s “just in time delivery.” Luckmarr Plastics specializes in and is known for returnable packaging for the automotive industry, transportation products, and recently acquired new business in the refrigeration appliance industry.

From its humble beginnings in 1976 to now, Luckmarr Plastics and Accutek Mold & Engineering have remained family-owned and operated businesses. Founder Luciano Pierobon has passed operating control of the companies to his son, Marco Pierobon, who is now being ably assisted by his son Aidan, a graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering – Industrial Systems.

The City appreciates the positive impact that the Pierobon family businesses have had on Sterling Heights, not only for their sustained record of business success, but because of the commitment to staying rooted in this community, providing countless jobs, and a positive economic impact on the local economy.

Importance of Black History Month:
"Black History Month has always been very important to me and my family. As a child, we would participate in Black History Month activities at the Children's Museum. Black History represents being seen, acknowledged and valued. It feels good to live in a community that is actively working on engaging the African American Community. Diversity, equity and inclusion always begins with acknowledgment that there is an issue. I applaud the city of Sterling Heights for taking that huge step! I am proud to serve on the Ethnic Community Committee and the African American Coalition. Black History Month can be celebrated throughout the year by continuing to invest in the rich culture and heritage of all people.

There is an South African proverb that says “Sawubona” translated “I see you”. We are better when we “see” each other. I would like the celebration to start happening in the schools so that we can change the culture. I encourage the city of Sterling Heights to continue to see color, see differences, and value all of positive things that diversity brings to this great City."

Carmen Williams, Past Chair, Sterling Heights Ethnic Community Committee and Member, Sterling Heights African American Coalition
