Are you ready?

Dear WOW Dems members and friends,

Well, here we are - officially just two months from the most important election of our lives. For many of us, the last 1,400 days have been dedicated to actively resisting this despicable administration. We've railed against elected officials - at every level - who have been emboldened by Trump's blatant disregard for all that is decent and who have enabled the single most unfit president in history.

It's time to take America back.

Here are ways you can make 2020 our year.

Voter registration. We're not just talking about YOUR voter registration - though if you ARE unregistered, get registered now! - but voter registration on an epic scale. Our success in November depends on getting every voter possible to the polls, so get everyone you know registered to vote (in Texas and in every state). We've compiled a digest of all the ways you can help in Texas and across the country. Check it out & visit our calendar for periodic updates about voter registration efforts.

Work at the polls. Every election could use more hands on deck, but the 2020 general election will probably set records in voter turnout. Election workers are critical to ensuring the success and integrity of our elections. Learn more at EAC.gov & the TX Secretary of State website.

Support the candidates. We cannot stress this one enough. Dem candidates - especially local and state candidates - need every single dollar you can give and every hour you can volunteer. Our WOW Dems Endorsees page offers info on directly supporting our endorsed candidates, and on our blog, we publish a weekly digest of those candidates' volunteer opportunities. If you want to get involved in the campaigns of other North Texas candidates, learn more about them via the links below.
USA.gov can help Americans everywhere learn who's on their ballot and therefore, which Dem campaigns in their area could use their help.

Make a plan to vote. Lots of people don't think about how they'll make time to vote, how they'll get to the polls, who they'll vote for, or where they vote until it's too late. Some forget or don't know about early voting, landing them in long lines on election day - increasing the risk they'll have to leave due to time or other constraints. This election is too important to leave to chance. Do your homework now so you're ready when the time comes, and help your friends, family, and colleagues make their plans to vote! Vote.org and USA.gov can help.

Give a ride. Transportation to the polls is a big hurdle for people from all walks of life. While WOW Dems doesn't offer a voter ride program, an awesome organization called Rideshare2Vote offers free rides to Democratic voters and they could always use more volunteer drivers! If you'd prefer to work directly with a specific campaign or you fall outside Rideshare2Vote's service area, contact the campaign of your choice to see if they're looking for drivers.

Show your support. Believe it or not, we've heard so many stories about people who literally remembered to vote because they saw a t-shirt or yard sign. Contact campaigns in your area for merchandise and yard signs, and contact your local county Democratic office for Biden-Harris signs. Here are links for DFW-area offices:
Stick with us. Stay active with WOW Dems. We are working overtime to provide information, resources, and context to this election, because it matters so much. Every value we hold dear is at stake on Nov. 3. Please join or renew your membership, volunteer, and join us at our next meeting. We have so much to discuss, and even more to accomplish.

In solidarity,
The Women of WOW Dems
