A NOTE FROM NILS
We look forward to seeing you at conferences on Thursday, February 24. If you still need to set up a time, please contact your child’s teacher. We hope you will have time to stop by the Book Fair in the library. And special thanks to the PWS PTO and all parents who donated food for conferences. We truly appreciate your support!

Next Tuesday is a unique day in the calendar when all five digits of the date are the same (2-22-22). This rare event only happens twice in a century (1-11-11 is the other one, and we already missed that.) To celebrate, students are invited to wear PWS blue (see below for more info.) At 2:22 we will have a Twozie Tournament throughout the building with a champion crowned in each classroom, grade level, and then for the entire school. For those 22 minutes students can enjoy Double Bubble (since double goes along with two) or a Tootsie Pop (two treats in one). Should be a very special 22 minutes on 2-22-22, and also it happens on a Tues-day. It’s just too much….

Our Title I Family Night--STEAM Safari has been rescheduled for Monday, March 28. Watch for information coming soon. We hope you can join us for a great evening of family fun.

And finally we want to congratulate Callie Harris, assistant principal, on receiving the prestigious Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program. This is a tremendous honor, and we can’t wait to celebrate. Our district is tremendously blessed with great staff members.

CATCHING UP WITH CALLIE
Hello, Pray-Woodman Families,

The time has come again for us to practice crisis drills for intruders. In the next week or so, your students will participate in a drill where we discuss what would happen if there were an emergency in the building. We had one of these in October that went very well. We learned the alarm is not terrible when in the classroom, but VERY loud in the hallways.

Students will stay in the classroom with their teachers and discuss what we would do if there were an intruder in the building.

As you remember from October, you know my mom-heart hurts this week. The discussions we will have with students can be hard and it can cause many questions to be asked at home. Please know that we will do everything we can to protect your child and their innocence. I wanted you to be aware that if your child is talking about emergency procedures not to be alarmed. We are doing some learning about safety.

We have an amazing school community. Thank you for all of your support!

Show the Love February!
It takes a village to run a school, especially during these recent challenging times, and our entire staff plays a huge role in making our school a fun and welcoming part of our student’s days. Please take some time this month to reach out to your child’s teachers, someone from the office staff, a para, the custodians, bus drivers or the kitchen staff to let them know you are thinking of them. It could be a handwritten note, an email, or some other creative way to say thank you! We know it will mean so much to each person! The link below is the staff favorites list for reference.
