Happenings in and around the Chamber!
Happy Monday!

We hope that you are continuing to enjoy the expanded amenities our local restaurants and retail shops offer since we moved into Phase 4.

Our Ribbon Cuttings are gaining momentum as well as we have had a backlog waiting to hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate their business opening. Scroll down to access more information about the four ceremonies currently scheduled during July.

Mainstreet Lending Program is Open for Applications

Last Wednesday, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston published a state-by-state listing of lenders participating in the Main Street Lending Program who are currently accepting applications from new business customers and also elect to be listed.

Interested borrowers can access the lender listing on the program website .

The listing will be updated regularly as additional lenders who are accepting applications from new business customers complete the registration process for the Main Street program. Borrowers are encouraged to inquire about Main Street loans with their existing financial institution as well as those on the list.

More Updates

Many of you have been viewing Mayor Schielke’s weekly videos. You can access the July 10 video by clicking this link . In this week's address, the Mayor talks about the wearing of masks. We are of the opinion that the Chamber must promote the wearing of masks to protect ourselves and others. Therefore, we will continue to ask that attendees at any of our in-person events wear masks. In this week’s video, you can get another Batavia history lesson, too!

Please scroll down for many new events and other content. If you have news to share, remember to send it to us! We continually update our home page, bataviachamber.org when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar f or new events from us and the community.

We encourage you to reconnect with the Batavia businesses you know and love. This week, we started a "Did You Know" segment in the Weekly Digest to highlight some of the many ways we are helping. As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley

Your Chamber Works For You!
The pandemic has proven to be a challenge for all of us. However, it is a perfect time for the Batavia Chamber to show what a valuable resource we are to the community. During these anxious moments, the Chamber served both members and non-members to help businesses deal with the crises on hand and survive.

We also know that not everyone is aware of what all we have been doing. During the upcoming issues of the Weekly Digest, we will fill you in - a bullet point or two at a time!

Without further ado, did you know that:
  • We were - and continue to be - a conduit for information coming from the state level regarding restrictions and guidelines about the essential, non-essential, and sheltering in place directives

  • Upon notice of the Governor Pritzker’s shelter in place directive, in partnership with Batavia MainStreet, we created the Batavia Restaurants Deliver, Drive Thru and Curbside Pick Up Directory as well as a Batavia Retail Resource. We posted hours, online ordering, promotions, and delivery options, promoting our local businesses throughout the region via press releases, social media, our newsletter, and our website. Once we entered Phase 4 of Restore Illinois, we created an Outdoor Patio Dining Guide and publicized our restaurants' new outdoor dining areas to inform the community about these options, encouraging people to dine out and support our businesses. We provide accurate and unbiased information that promotes health safety and the local economy

This is the tip of the iceberg...watch for more ways we helped next week.
