Clean water for God's thirsty children

Despite the Pandemic, Great Progress in Haiti

The Village By Village Project has produced outstanding results this year, even after losing five months of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2019, the Haiti team trained and equipped nearly 11,000 Water Women. But even with the challenges this year, they have been able to help about 8,500 women become providers of clean water to their own and three other families.

"In St. Michel de Lattalaye we trained 7,380 Water Women, and in Roche Plate we added another 1,845," said Gerry Delaquis, the Water With Blessings Haiti Coordinator. "We didn't let the coronavirus bring us to a halt."

"We have already started working in our next areas. We have a new project in Maissade, where we have a goal of 3,300 new Water Women. We've had a week there already, and will go again next week. We will also begin next week in Ferrier, where we plan to train another 2,714 Water Women. After these two weeks, we will stop for 2020 and try to complete those projects in the first half of next year."

Gerry stresses that the Water With Blessings Haiti team takes seriously the need for precautions and safety.

"We have face masks and other supplies for all of our team members, and for all the Water Women," Gerry said. "The Water Women are very excited to get them."
Update On Our Honduras Relief Efforts

Thank you for responding so generously to our Honduras relief effort. 5000 Filters are on their way, and thanks to the UPS Foundation they’re flying there for free.

Also, with the desperate need we are collaborating with several other organizations, including Food For The Poor.

Yet even with this great response, we still need more sponsorships. If you haven’t helped us yet, please consider giving the gift of clean water – which means life and health for those who are suffering this Christmas – by clicking on the button below.

And if you would, please consider helping us in one more way: send this email to one or two (or more) of your friends. Please don’t ask them for money. Put the pressure on us. Just send the email and we’ll let our mission do the talking.

You may never meet all those you help here on earth, but I believe that God, who sees our every act of generosity to the least of our sisters and brothers, will one day bring us all together in the Kingdom. May God bless you for all you do.

Calling Our Crafters: Help Us Cover Those Filters

With the tremendous response to our pleas for help, our supply of crafted filter covers is starting to shrink. Several months ago we thought we had enough to last for a long time. But with our success around the world, and the urgent need in Central America and Haiti, we need more now.

The Water Women love these colorful covers, and we have always appreciated the creativity of our Water With Blessings crafting community. To find out how to help, please click on the button below. Thank you again for your help.
Access to clean water is is needed for families all across the world...

The impact of the two hurricanes on the poor in Central America is terrible, and we must focus our efforts there even more firmly at a time like this.

But the need for clean water continues in other parts of the world served by Water With Blessings. We appreciate your continued support and investment in this life-saving work. But we need more help.

We ask you every week, but now it's more important than ever:

Please consider forwarding this email to a few of your friends. Perhaps they too would want to help those who are suffering through this devastation.

And remember that you can make a long-term impact by clicking the link below to become a sustaining donor to Water With Blessings. By giving $12.50 each month, you can sponsor two new Water Women each year. We'll be sure to send you information on seeing where your Water Women live and the impact your gift is making.
Why I Support
Water With Blessings
Kim Langley, Poet and Editor of
Send My Roots Rain

When determining what kind of groups she will support, Kim Langley says she has one important criterion: "I believe in supporting groups that provide a leg up, not a handout."

Kim had supported other groups that help provide clean water, but when a friend told her about Water With Blessings, Kim thought "these are my kind of people."

"Water With Blessings uses such a smart model that empowers women," she said. "Not only do I like the empowering, I believe people like to support something that can be replicated.

"I learned long ago that so many girls in the developing world can't go to school because they have to get the water for their families all day long. A source of clean water for a family does so much good in so many ways."

Another way Kim is doing good is through her writing and editing. Her book Send My Roots Rain, A Companion on the Grief Journey, was written to help people address grief. This is especially timely as we face the coronavirus pandemic.

"In our culture, we have a difficult time dealing with grief," she said. "This book offers comfort and encouragement to those struggling with recent loss or grief, helping them find language for complex emotions, and open their hearts through poetry. A friend of mine says it's a poetry book for people who think they don't like poetry."

Kim will be joining us for our Coffee Chat on Friday, December 18. To learn more about her, or to order Send My Roots Rain, you can click on the link below:
Coffee Chat Features
Kim Langley and an
Update on Haiti
Poet and Editor Kim Langley will join us for this week’s Coffee Chat, talking about her book Send My Roots Rain, A Companion on the Grief Journey. She'll also talk about why she supports Water With Blessings and its model of empowering women.

Also, Gerry Delaquis, our Water With Blessings Haiti Coordinator, will give us an update on our great success this year in Haiti, despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

So remember: the Chat begins at Noon Eastern Time. The coffee is optional (we know some people prefer tea), but you can always count on the great spirit of community: prayer, support, fellowship, and always a few laughs.

Please consider making Coffee Chat a weekly habit.
