Restaurant Revitalization Webinar
The Chamber has partnered with SBA representatives to present a FREE one-hour educational Q & A webinar on May 13 at 10 a.m., to provide an overview and details about the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, enacted federally to provide emergency assistance to eligible restaurants, bars and other qualifying businesses impacted by COVID-19.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will begin registrations on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 a.m. and open applications on Monday, May 3, 2021, at noon for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund provides a total of $28.6 billion in direct relief funds to restaurants and other hard-hit food establishments that have experienced economic distress and significant operational losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location.
All registrants will receive a Zoom link to the virtual event with the confirmation.

Q & A webinar on May 20 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., is a terrific opportunity to participate in a leader-led conversation focused on building a better business and better business climate!
The featured speaker for this event is Assemblyman Brian Miller, representing the 101st Assembly District, including towns of Davenport, Delhi, Meredith, Bovina, Andes, and Hamden.
Brian Miller was elected to the New York State Assembly on November 8, 2016. His district is comprised of parts of Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Delaware, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange counties.
As an Assemblyman, Brian works to reduce taxes and unfunded mandates, overhaul the Common Core education standards, and eliminate the restraints of the SAFE Act, as well as increase employment opportunities and mental health services for veterans. Brian also plans to address the heroin epidemic by increasing treatment options and improving education on the dangers of opioids and heroin.
From 2000-2016, Brian served as an Oneida County Legislator in the 16th district. He’s served as chairman of the Public Works Committee, assistant majority leader, member of the Ways and Means Committee, member of the Region 6 Fish and Wildlife Management Board, and served eight years as the Bridgewater Town Supervisor. A graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College, Brian has more than 36 years of experience as a mechanical engineer.

Delaware County Travel Guide Now Available

The printed version of our travel guide is now available. Rather than the typical endless lists of most guides, ours is more of an experiential guide to our many assets. It’s really a lifestyle publication and can assist you in your recruitment and on-boarding efforts.
Distribution of the guide started earlier this week, bringing a little bit of Delaware County to information centers from Albany to Utica to Binghamton to Northern Jersey and along the New York State Thruway.

Contractor Meet, Greet, Learn & Grow, May 6
** Attention Builders/Contractors
Join Chamber member Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council for their first Contractor-Appreciation Meet, Greet, Learn and Grow event on May 6 at 3:30 p.m. The event will be held at 125 Main Street in Stamford.
Participants will have their insurance liability and subcontractor questions answered and hear an in depth presentation from a skilled code enforcement officer with tips and tricks to successfully dealing with local code enforcement officers. There will be information available about the benefits of owning a minority or woman -owned business and collect information on becoming a certified lead renovator or accredited asbestos abatement professional!

Electric Vehicle Car Show May 22
Chamber member Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society is seeking participants and sponsors for an electric vehicle car show on May 22 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at Neahwa Park in Oneonta. This event will provide current electric vehicle owners the opportunity to talk to potential buyers about options that exists in the area. the benefits of owning an electric vehicle and how their purchase impacts the environment.

Kappa Sigma Epsilon will host a golf tournament to honor the memory of Stephen Siller, a FDNY firefighter who lost his life while rescuing others on September 11, 2001 after he raced through the Hugh Cary Tunnel to the World Trade Center when he heard of the attack. Proceeds of the golf tournament with benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which supports first responders and service members.
The four-person scramble will have a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start at the College Golf Course in Delhi and finish with a steak dinner at 6:30 p.m. on site at the Bluestone Pub and Restaurant.
Player fees range from $95 for one player, to $360 for a team of four.

Chamber Online Learning Center

As part of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce ongoing initiative to respond to member needs, an online learning center has been opened to help businesses meet their training needs in three key areas:
- Leadership, Management, and Supervisory Skills
- Sales and Customer Service Skills
- Human Resource Compliance Skills
In a self-paced, online learning environment, your staff can learn and enhance various skills including how to create a productive working environment, effective delegation, conflict management, working in a remote environment, working post-COVID and much more.
Sales and customer service modules focus on handling client or customer attitudes and objections, negotiating styles and effective sales negotiation and the dos and don'ts of effective customer services.
Human resources modules include diversity and inclusion training, micro-inequities, process of stereotyping and methods of exclusion, among other topics.
Each module is priced at a reduced rate of $45 per person.

Annual Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

The Chamber has partnered with New Haven Consulting Group, Inc. to provide our members with an online “Preventing Sexual Harassment" workshop that meets the requirements of the new law.
This program is available at a Chamber-member reduced price of $20 per participant.
