Our annual Summer Institute is a place for fellow early childhood advocates to gather together, to learn from one another, and to push our advocacy forward with greater success. Whether you are a parent, educator or educational activist, We Are Stronger and Louder Together.
The 2021 Summer Institute is once again virtual and free.
This year, we wanted to think beyond the COVID pandemic and focus on what parents, caregivers, teachers, and our children need in order to thrive. We have gathered an incredible line-up of nationally respected educators and researchers, as well as teachers and parents who are in the trenches every day. Over these three days, we will be discussing:
- Planning for a better future for early childhood instead of merely returning to "normal," because "normal pre-pandemic" was pretty awful for children and teachers.
- Advocating for play. Play is how children learn and is essential for the early years. We talk with play advocates and researchers about the power of play, why it's so important for the future success of children and how we advocate to bring it back into our early childhood classrooms.
- Picking up where we left off at our last Institute. How do we build an equitable ECE future for all our children and our teachers? What do we need to consider and how do we make those changes?
Join us for three days of thought-provoking conversations on how we move beyond normal, how we build equitable learning environments and ensure that child development and research-based and proven practices are used in every early childhood classroom across the country.
