Metro45 Food Truck Upgrade Campaign

LMM’s Workforce Development program has been an integral part of our organization’s commitment to serving our community since 2014.

Our Workforce Development offerings provide existing and potential workers with the skills to fulfill jobs needed by local food service employers, and help them to stay competitive in a global marketplace.

Within the program, our Culinary Training Institute and Social Enterprises are vital to the success of supporting our students, keeping our tuition low and preparing our students for the culinary industry of Greater Cleveland.

In 2021, LMM’s Workforce Development program acquired a gently used food truck, as a social enterprise under the brand Metro45 Mobile Kitchen & Catering. After a year of success, the food truck is in need of some repairs and upgrades.

The food truck also provides resources to people facing food insecurity, a variety of meal options, and a sense of dignity to our shelter residents, as we offer meals from the food truck to our shelter residents a couple times a week.

This month we are launching a special fundraising effort, to raise $20,000 to upgrade the kitchen equipment on our food truck. Metro45 generates significant revenue for our Culinary Training Program and is the largest source of tuition support for our students.

Our students, culinary instructors and the residents of our shelters thank you for any support you can provide to keep this mobile kitchen going!

Answering the Call for Crisis Care Change

When our loved ones, neighbors, or those we serve are in emotional distress, or experiencing a mental health crisis, there are moments when a response from a therapeutic professional may be the best option.

The City Club hosted a discussion earlier this week on what a full crisis response system would look like in Cuyahoga County. Featured panelists included Joan M. Englund, Rick Oliver and Josiah Quarles. Click the button below to watch a recording of the forum.

Volunteers Beautify Breaking New Ground Home

Thank you to the outstanding volunteers from Bethesda on the Bay Lutheran Church, Aurora High School Service Learning and Case Western Reserve University Greek Life for their support in painting one of LMM's Breaking New Ground homes on Edna Ave. Volunteers applied three coats of paint to the porch floor, railings, and lattices. We love our volunteers!
