Expert Panel on Supply and Affordability
Final Report  

The Canada-B.C. Expert Panel on Housing Supply and Affordability has released its Final Report presenting 23 recommendations addressing 5 themes: the local government planning framework; reforming property development fees; expanding affordable housing supply; improving coordination among and within all orders of government; and ensuring equitable treatment of renters and homeowners. FireSmart BC virtual LFR Workshops
FireSmart BC is hosting five (5) free virtual Local FireSmart Representative (LFR) workshops beginning July 2021, and running until April 2022. Online registrations are currently being accepted. Read more
2024 Land Use Contract termination

The Province has advised that all land use contracts (LUCs) will be terminated on June 30, 2024. By June 30, 2022, local governments must have zoning bylaws in place that will apply to the land once the land use contracts are terminated.
