We're pleased to pay tribute to this year's class of Healthy Aging Star Award recipients. The awards recognize the hard work, ingenuity, and collaborative spirit of the professionals, volunteers and organizations that work to promote healthy aging and healthy communities in Wisconsin.

“We're so pleased to honor these remarkable individuals and their organizations with these awards,” said Dave Nelson, WIHA executive director. “They demonstrate that individuals and communities can make a real impact on the lives and health of older adults.”

It's a Prime Time to Apply for WIHA Leader Trainings
As COVID restrictions begin to ease, it is a great time to build your capacity to deliver healthy aging programs in your community. WIHA's program leader training schedule during the COVID pandemic has been fluid and flexible in response to varying needs and availabilities. There have been several updates to the summer and fall leader training schedule this year, including new trainings added to the menu. Please visit the link (right) or check our website for the most recent schedule.

We ask that trainees register at least one month prior to the leader training. This allows us time to:

  • Order and mail training materials for online/virtual leader trainings

  • Determine if the training has enough people to go forward and cancel/reschedule as needed

As always, if you need a training but don’t see it on our list, please contact Jill Renken.

Reminder
You may now offer in-person workshops provided your organization allows it and you abide by our safety plan. We developed these protocols to ensure that all safety precautions are taken when offering in-person workshops.

We will alert you to changes as conditions and safety guidance change. Please review this and contact the WIHA Program staff leader (listed below) if you have questions.

Upcoming Leader Trainings

Following are leader trainings scheduled to start in the next couple of months. If interested, please register as soon as possible. Some trainings may be postponed if we don't fill the training. Additional trainings scheduled for September and October are posted online. New trainings may be added. Find applications and registration information for all trainings by clicking on your program here.
