Reflections with Fr. Mark
Dear Parishioners,

Today, we celebrate the Memorial of Charles Lwanga and Companions, Martyrs.  St. Charles was martyred alongside 21 other Christians in the court of Ugandan King Mwanga II for resisting the King’s immoral lifestyle.

This martyrdom occurred in 1886 because some young people took up a worthy cause for which they were willing to sacrifice their lives.  Considering our faith, when and where are you called to take a stand?

Our Scriptures for today remind us, “I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have.”  What is that gift?  What do you share with the rest of the Body of Christ?  Hopefully, this time of solitude has enflamed your desire to become involved in something that builds up others in life, in faith or in spirit!

Blessings,

Fr. Mark
