Ineka came to Christian HELP in search of a nursing position. She had been working diligently with one of our care managers to take the next step in her career, but the direction of that next step also hinged upon the contents of an envelope that she was afraid to open!

Ineka's resume was up to date. She and her care manager honed her interviewing skills. She was using the job search techniques she'd learned through Christian HELP. Finally, Ineka's persistence paid off. She landed an interview with a local rehabilitation center.

She was ready.

But she was afraid to open the envelope. So it sat there for days.

The envelope contained the results of her nursing exam. Ineka had an interview for a Medical Assistant position but didn't know if she'd passed her test to be a Registered Nurse.

Ineka shared her fear with her care manager. This is where her care manager also played the role of coach and encourager, pressing Ineka to open the envelope before she went on the interview.

Ineka finally gave in, and she had passed! She was then able to tell her interviewers that she was officially a Registered Nurse. They offered Ineka the job on the spot!

Sometimes, our job-seeking clients need more than interviewing skills and job search assistance. They need a confidant and a dose of encouragement.

They get that because of your generous support.

Thank you.
