Join Us for Back to School Night: Wednesday, September 1

Reminders for the evening:

Doors open at 6:30pm.
Report to your student's Family Homeroom (a copy of their schedule will be in HR).
'Back to School Night' schedule will start promptly at 7pm.
Class periods will be 10 minutes in length, which includes time to switch classes.
If you are not vaccinated, we strongly encourage that you wear a mask.

As we walk Forward with Faith, we celebrate the return to school with our students and SFD community!! We also have the opportunity at the start of this new school year to support our students by contributing to the Fund for DeSales in the Forward with Faith Fall Drive.

We love to promote the wonderful things our students are involved in, and we’d like your input too! Please share your news with us by emailing Karen Cofojohn at cofojohn@desales.co -- include student’s name, class year, their achievement, and if possible, a photo. Then be sure to keep your eye out for your news in the Weekly DeTales or on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram.

Morning Drop Off Procedures

Parents: please follow the morning drop off procedures for everyone's safety and to make drop off more efficient.

Enter through the North drive at the traffic light, and follow the drive all the way around the school building.
No students should be dropped off on the North side or behind the school by the Weight Room.
Pull up as far as you can on the South side of the building.
Drop offs take place in a designated drop off zone on the South side of the building; students are not to be dropped off at the Student/Theater Lobby doors.

ACT Opportunity for Juniors and Seniors

DeSales will be offering the ACT (without writing) to interested juniors and seniors this fall. Testing will take place on the morning of Tuesday, October 5th. Space is limited. To register, please submit the form below no later than September 14th. The fee for this testing session is $45. This can be paid by cash or check (payable to St. Francis DeSales) to Mrs. Lisa Hoyer in the Student Services Center.

Vaccination Clinic at SFD This Weekend

Saturday, September 4 from 11:00am to 2:00pm (1st Dose)

Sunday, September 26 from 11:00am to 2:00pm (2nd Dose)

Old Village Pharmacy will be administering the Pfizer vaccine (2 shots - 21 days apart) to students at DeSales High school. The information fact sheet for the Pfizer vaccine is linked below for your convenience. These fact sheets will also be available at the clinics. A vaccination record card including the date and type of vaccine received will be given after the shot.

Please bring your insurance card to the clinic. There is NO COST for anyone to get vaccinated. The insurance card is for billing purposes of administration fees that is covered by your insurance. Again, there is NO COST for anyone to get vaccinated. If you have any questions, please contact Old Village Pharmacy for assistance.

*Every student must bring the consent form signed by a parent/legal guardian to the clinic in order to get the shot.

Financial Aid 101 Presentation

When: September 14 at 7pm via Zoom

Theresa Popelar and Cody McMillen from the University of Dayton will share their expertise on the financial aid process. They will touch on the following topics: types of financial aid, determining financial need and aid, net price calculator, applying for need based aid/Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and more!

Save the Date!

Over the past decade, the annual Friends in the Courtyard Wine Tasting and Auction has become one of the school’s most anticipated and popular fall events. This event has grown to one of the largest fundraising events for the school and has raised over $500,000 for the students and their co-curricular programs.

Join us to taste the finest wines around the world from multiple wine distributors plus local breweries and an Italian feast catered by Carfagna's! Registration and event details coming soon.

Eucharistic Adoration

We are happy to announce that Eucharistic Adoration will begin this school year on Friday, September 10th. Eucharistic Adoration is one of the best and easiest ways you can support the mission of the school!

As in years past, Eucharistic Adoration will be held on the first Friday of each month in the chapel beginning with Mass at 7:00 a.m. followed by Eucharistic Adoration with Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament throughout the school day. The devotion will conclude with Benediction at approximately 2:40 p.m.

Join the Cafeteria Crew at SFD

Bosc and Brie are currently looking for a new team member to join the cafeteria crew. This is a part-time, position approximately 20 hours per week. The hours are 9am to 1pm. The job duties will vary but will involve kitchen prep work, serving, stocking supplies, and general kitchen duties. Lifting of boxes, milk crates, hot pans, etc. will be required.
