Wherever you go, whatever you are doing and whoever you are with, consider it Sacred Ground

Are you ok?

"If you bring forth what is in you it will save you. If you do not bring forth what is in you, it will destroy you" Gospel of Thomas, Gnostic Gospels

Are you ok? Are you ok? Are you ok? Who wants ok? Do I want ok? I'm not ok! I’m not ok! I'm not ok! Good! Now, something can change.

I'm not ok is soooooo ok!! No-one said you would be comfortable and content every day of your life. I'm not ok is your signal that something needs to change or is changing and you don’t like it. Perhaps you know the reason you're not ok. Whatever it is, you’ve named it and blamed, getting colder and colder moving further away from the direction you're soul wants to go.

How long have you been stationary in I'm ok or not ok?
Stationary in a job, relationship, someplace, no place or a way of being.

Stationary. A beautiful piece of paper waiting to write your dreams upon. You need a plan, a decision, a direction….a….a…..a …. COMPASS.

A week or so ago was my first YOU rally in my new position as the Teen Consultant of the Eastern Region. Spring Rally is the time of year that honors our graduates as they move into adulthood. Every graduate is given the book “Oh the places you will go” by the legendary Dr. Suess. The book explains all the hills and valleys, dark and light places and the people they will meet along the way. This year the book received a new addition. A compass for their travels. The symbology around their compass was that at any moment they felt lost in their travels to use Unity’s 5 principles as their compass to navigate their realities.

  1. There is only one Presence and one Power active as the Universe and in my life. God the Good.
  2.  Our essence is of God; therefore we are inherently good. Made in the image and likeness
  3.  We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in Mind.
  4.  Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God.
  5.  Through thoughts, words, and actions, we live the Truth we know

Oh, the places I have been in this year have many times left me feeling not ok! Ending a relationship that was not honoring what I wanted. Traveling to a foreign country that tested every one of my skills. Accepting a new job opportunity away from the life I created. Moving out of my home and taking up residence in Virginia briefly living at my mother's residence. Telling someone that I loved them still and wanted to try again and stand in the grey area of not knowing where it’s going. Lead 93 people as they watched every move I made. Having to make decisions that affect the course of others lives.

In every one of these moments at some moment I was not ok……but I wasn’t lost. I knew where I was going and why and all of it has taken a great amount of courage and vulnerability. Courage and vulnerability to follow my inner compass. My heart.

When something is not ok, use your bodies internal compass to point the way back home.

  1. I’m not ok…
  2. I accept I'm not ok…
  3. How do I want to feel? (Safe, loved, strong, courageous….etc)
  4. What supports those feelings? (Supportive thoughts, activities I like to do, friends that support me)
  5. Once you have written these things on your stationary….Follow the direction.

There's something inside of you that wants to come forth. Do you have the courage and vulnerability to follow? Or will you stay stationary….sitting pretty on a desk or in a drawer being eaten away by moths.
