Step 2- Talk about the lesson

Discussion Guide After watching the introduction video, use the discussion guide to talk, reflect, and learn more about the commandment.

Step 3 - Put it into practice

Where Faith Meets Life Practice Each week there will be a Where Faith Meets Life Practice for each student to complete. Completion of the practice is how we will track participation and attendance. These practices are designed to help students connect the lesson for the week with everyday life. Commandments Nine & Ten Practice: Choose one of the following questions to reflect on coveting in your own life. When was a time that you coveted something belonging to a family member & friends, or something you saw on social media or on TV/movies?  What is something you've posted, told others, or had that has caused them to covet what you have? Please turn in your responses no later than next Tuesday, December 22. You can submit your responses by email to anorlinweaver@augustana.com.

Where Faith Meets Life End-of-Unit Project - 10 Commandments Project Subject: How the Ten Commandments shape and guide you each day.  More information about the project can be found in the 10 Commandments End-of-Unit Project Guide. This project has two due date options: option 1, is Friday, December 18, 2020, if you’d like to turn it in before Christmas, option 2, is Monday, January 4, 2021, if you’d like the time of winter break to complete your project. Completed projects should be emailed to Abby.

Lowell Steenberg turns 90! On December 22, long time Augustana member and staff employee (Yes - he’s still punching a time clock!), Lowell Steenberg will celebrate his 90th birthday. While we would love to all gather and commemorate the day, the pandemic prohibits us from doing so. We hope to plan something in 2021, but we don’t want to let the big day go by without recognizing this special milestone. We are asking for all of you to send Lowell a birthday card, something we know he would enjoy receiving! Please mail directly to Lowell (most of you have the church directory and can find his address there), or send the card in care of the church office and we’ll be sure to deliver to him. Thank you for helping celebrate Lowell – he’s special to us here on staff as well as to Augustana!
