2017 Lemelson  "Cuvée X" Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eric Lemelson has been bottling distinctive Oregon Pinot Noir since the 1999 vintage and we've been adoring fans since his wines came to Chicago a few years later.
The juice for "Cuvée X" is a selection of barrels from Lemelson's "Thea's Selection" program - the winery's signature blend that includes fruit from all seven of their vineyards. While Eric typically ages his Pinots in oak barrel for 15 months, Cuvée X sees just 7 months, almost exclusively in used wood - reducing the oak impact and allowing the youthful freshness of the pure Pinot fruit to shine through.
The result is a vibrant wine with fresh, deeply flavorful red fruit notes, bright red earth tones, a surprising age-worthy structure and a soft, lifted finish. We've worked with previous vintages of this wine and 2017 is by far the deepest, most elegant and most complex bottling yet, earning a strong 91 points on the Vin Chicago scale. Give this an hour or two in a decanter and you will be looking at one of the very best twenty buck Oregon Pinot Noirs on the market. The fact that it comes from certified organic estate vineyards makes the story even better!
At our special price of $19.99, this EXCEPTIONAL certified organically grown Willamette Valley estate Pinot Noir is an incredible value to drink now and over the coming five years.
A Tasty Island White for $8.99!
2018 Terra Santa  Ile de Beaute Blanc
Corsica, France
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Mediterranean island of Corsica is situated roughly 100 miles south of Provence. From what we've heard, it's like visiting paradise. While most Corsican wines that make their way to the US are rather pricey, there are exceptions. Thanks to a quality minded co-op, we present one of them to you today!

For the second vintage in a row, we present the Terra Santa "Ile de Beaute" Blanc (meaning Island of Beauty, Ile de Beaute is the official Corsican regional wine appellation). Last vintage, this wine landed on Wine Spectator's "Top 100" list. This year, we love the wine again.

A blend of 60% Vermentino and 40% Chardonnay from vineyards along the east coast of Corsica, this tasty dry white is bright and cheery with a surprisingly dense mouth feel, a hint of sea spray minerality and a punch of fresh citrus and orchard fruits.  On our scale, this refreshing island white earns a solid 88+ points. Scoring it a bit higher, Wine Spectator writes...

"Fresh, with a light quinine edge amid a mix of green and yellow apple and melon fruit flavors. Blanched almond and honeysuckle notes show on the finish. Drink now."
- 89 Points, Wine Spectator (11/15/2019)

Clean and lively, this is perfect as an aperitif, a summer party wine or with spicy summer dishes. With temperatures on the rise, this is a great wine to have on hand!
