“I was inspired to work alongside youth who are leaders in their community and who are working to make the world a better place.

This is an empowering organization that has been

a privilege to work with.”

 We're proud to announce the

2022-23 Hands4Hope-Youth Making A Difference Club Leaders!

We look forward to learning more about the Service Learning Projects

they will choose for the new program year!

“Reach for the Stars” was the theme of this year’s Hands4Hope

Leadership Camp hosted by the Hands4Hope -Youth Making A Difference

Education Team, along with the Youth Board Executive Committee,

for incoming Hands4Hope middle and high school youth leaders.

Through a series of customized fun and skill-building workshops

and team-building activities, the camps provide our youth leaders the

tools to lead successful clubs and committees in the new program year.

Thank you to our Adult Volunteers and Board Members

who helped prepare and serve food and spent time

getting to know our youth during Leadership Camp!

Our 8th Annual Kids Zone

powered by Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference

was a smashing success!

After months of planning, this youth-led committee raised over $13,000 thanks to the support of our sponsors and the community members who visited us during the Fireworks and Freedom Concert in July!

A very special thank you to Rachel Spencer, our Volunteer Adult Mentor

for Kids Zone, for providing our youth the opportunity to develop their skills through this project-based, service learning experience

as well as our sponsors and community for their support!

Visit our blog for the complete wrap up & photos and to hear what our youth

had to say about their experience being involved with Kids Zone this year!

Thanks to YOU, our Hands4Hope community,

we surpassed our goal to provide 600 backpacks filled with school supplies

to local students in need during our 9th Annual School Supply Drive.

Twenty-nine volunteers filled 95 volunteer spots and put in

over 300 hours of community service hours for this event.

Working through our agency partners we were able to serve

640 students from Kindergarten through High School.

Thank you to all our supporters who donated backpacks, supplies,

monetary donations, as well as snacks and treats for our volunteers.

Also, a special thank you to EDCOE for letting the committee

use the school bus for the "Stuff the Bus" event.

We look forward to sharing the full wrap-up

written by youth from our School Supply Drive Committee next month!

Folsom High School junior, Maya Moss, juggles a job, soccer practice,

tech theater, and leadership roles at school and at Hands4Hope

with a positive, can-do attitude!

She has been involved with Hands4Hope for five years,

has made many friends along the way and

“always leaves with a smile” after participating with

Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference!

Read more about how volunteering with her mom prepared Maya

for the service learning projects she is now involved with at Hands4Hope

and how Hands4Hope helped her become more outgoing,

feel comfortable in her own skin, discover her strengths

and changed her life for the better!

Inspired by the support Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference

provided to help the Caldor Fire victims over the last year, Lyon Real Estate's Placerville office recently awarded us with a $5000 grant

(through the Lyon Cares Foundation of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation) which will allow Hands4Hope to continue our mission of

inspiring and empowering youth in leadership and service.

We asked Monica Benedetti, Branch Manager at Lyon Real Estate Placerville to share about the strong impression our youth left

on the Lyon Real Estate representatives when they spoke about

the impact Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference has had on their lives.

See photos from the meeting and read more about how our youth

sparked their desire to support Hands4Hope in the future

- including our upcoming Warm & Fuzzy Drive and Winter Boutique!

October 8-9 at El Dorado Hills Town Center!

Marketing & Fundraising Committee Update:

While our Staff & Board wrap our details for the Endless Summer Beach Party Fundraiser in September, the youth-led Fall Festival Committee is preparing for the launch of our 6th Annual Fall Festival on October 8-9.

Oak Ridge Junior, Mishti Shah, returns for the second year leading the Fall Festival Marketing & Fundraising team. Her previous experience has certainly helped troubleshoot potential issues but she says she’s still learning and putting into practice new strategies to address issues they face along the way.

Visit our blog for a full update from Mishti

regarding sponsorships, some of the challenges they have faced,

and their marketing plan for this year!
