Meet WOMA's New Director of Public Affairs

Kim Hà Wadsworth, DO is a board-certified family medicine physician who recently launched her solo practice in Olympia, straight out of residency. She provides full-spectrum, whole-person direct primary care and osteopathic manipulative therapy. She completed her residency in June 2021 at Central Washington Family Medicine Residency program (Yakima, WA) after graduating from medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences – College of Medicine (Yakima, WA), and holds a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. During medical school, Kim attended DO Day in Olympia, volunteered at the Yakima Union Gospel Mission Free Clinic as well as Grace Clinic in Kennewick, participated in the Diabetes Prevention Program (Co-Director in her 2nd year of medical school), proposed a university-wide interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum as part of the AMA ChangeMedEd Challenge, and embarked on a 18-month primary care research project (funded by Arnold P. Gold Foundation) evaluating Shared Medical Appointments as a humanistic approach to patient-centered care. Her research culminated in a publication in BMC Family Medicine in addition to presenting on SMA during the WOMA Annual Convention during her intern year. She remained active in advocacy and volunteerism throughout her residency years and will continue to engage in community service as she puts down roots in Olympia. Kim is excited to join the WOMA board as the director of public affairs and hopes to bring together osteopathic physicians and medical students in person for DO Day in Olympia in 2023! If you have any suggestions or concerns for advocacy and public affairs, feel free to reach out to her directly at Kim@WadsUpDoc.com.
