Constituent Service Update
Friend,

As I've been traveling around our district over the past few weeks, I've heard from many Iowans about issues they are experiencing with federal agencies. I want to be sure you are aware of some of the ways my team can be of service to help you navigate the federal bureaucracy and cut through problematic red tape. From helping folks with the Internal Revenue Services (IRS), the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and even with issues obtaining passports or visas--my team stands ready to help. For example:

  • I was overjoyed when our team successfully recovered almost $10,000 in lost VA benefits for a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who had sustained several injuries while serving our country overseas.

  • Our team worked with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to help one of our constituents solve an issue with her application to renew her Green Card, ensuring that she would be able to legally stay in Iowa with her family and apply for citizenship in 3 years.

  • We helped an Iowan navigate a complicated, bureaucratic process with the Social Security Administration, and she was finally able to receive her missing benefits after three years of waiting.

These are just a few examples of ways our team has successfully advocated for Iowans at the federal level. If you're getting a dial-tone when trying to reach someone, don't know who to talk to about problem, or have any issue with a federal agency, we are here to answer your questions.

I am in the business of customer service, and my team and I are here to help and advocate for you. Please visit or reach out to any of my district offices in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Waterloo with any questions or to learn more about how we can serve you and your families.

Stay Connected
Be sure to check-out my social media accounts and follow along to get an inside look at my work for our district. In addition to providing updates on legislation and votes in Washington, I often give a behind the scenes look at daily life in Congress, and I regularly hold Facebook Live conversations with policy experts to break down issues that impact Iowans. For example, I recently hosted a conversation with a former Trump Administration official who helped shaped economic policy at the Office of Management and Budget to discuss skyrocketing prices and ways we can help grow our economy. National Dairy Month
Happy National Dairy Month! IA-01 dairy producers work around the clock to provide a wide variety of dairy products for the country and the world. I recently stopped by two of my favorite spots in our district to celebrate national dairy month: Dairy Kone in Jesup for ice cream and WW Homestead Dairy in Waukon for cheese curds!

Protecting Life
This week, I participated in a House Budget Committee hearing on President Biden's budget proposal. His proposed budget continues to disrespect taxpayers, and I am especially concerned that it would reverse the longstanding Hyde Amendment and allow taxpayer dollars to fund abortion at home and abroad. I will always fight to ensure that taxpayers are never forced to pay for abortions.

The Doug Wagner Show
I joined Doug Wagner last week to discuss my travel throughout our district and how the Biden Administration’s budget request is disrespectful to hardworking taxpayers.
