Letter from the Principal
Trivium staff, students, and families have several exciting events coming up, and we are all excited. The football and volleyball games are happening in person, and we feel more “normal” than we have in a long time.
We will have several Forthcoming activities beginning with the middle school game from 5:00-6:00 and the JV game starting at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 18. The fun will end on Oct. 23 with an evening at Pin Stack for our high school students. There will be dress-up days during the week also for secondary students. All students K-11 are encouraged to wear their spirit wear and mums on Monday to show their school spirit!
The Fall Festival work and planning is underway, and we are very excited to welcome our families on campus for an evening of fun, games, and food on Oct. 26.  We hope for good weather and a great turnout for the festival. We will be bringing back all the favorites, including the Cake Walk, games, and fun. Make a night of it with your family and join in on the fun. We still have a few spots available for Trunk or Treat, so email Becca Crews if you want to spot.

We are also ramping up for the elementary APEX Fun Run, which is an important fundraiser for the school and a highlight of our year. This year we welcome volunteers to make it all work, so we will be in touch. We know our students will be excited to have the APEX team back on campus. They bring a new level of energy to our school, and we all have a great time.

We moved student picture day to Nov. 2 due to Forthcoming. We are bringing back the professional photography team. You will be able to order photos once they have been processed.

We have two in person parent presentations coming up for new and prospective families. The elementary presentation is scheduled for November 9, and the secondary presentation is scheduled for November 16--both from 5:30-7:00 PM. If you want to come learn more about Trivium and haven't attended one of these informational presentations before, we encourage you to come out! Please share these dates with any friends you know who might be interested in learning more about our school. The open enrollment window for next year is already sneaking up on us!

Lastly we have an all school PIE meeting scheduled for November 11 at 5:30 in the cafeteria. If you want to get more involved, this is a great opportunity to come learn about the various committees you can be a part of!

As always, we are grateful for our parent support and are excited that school seems to be back to normal. We still encourage mask wearing because we know it helps keep us all safe and in school. Our students are real troopers, and we are thankful they are in person and learning in a school environment. We thank you for trusting us with your children and we are grateful for your help and support.

If you want to learn more about how to get involved at Trivium Academy, PIE is the perfect way to do that! We're looking forward to seeing everyone at this meeting to learn more about the PIE committees.

We have a PIE group on Bloomz where information about meetings and events is kept up to date. Join the PIE Bloomz page with code: HZ42DG.

If you are planning to volunteer on campus, we will need you to fill out the volunteer background check (see the link below).

Secondary Ascender Parent Portal
The Ascender Portal is now available for secondary parents and students to set up an account to view grades. There are four links below. The first two links are the actual websites to login to either the student or parent portal in Ascender. The last two links are instructions for setting up your parent or student account.

Curriculum Corner
The goals for our students revolve around the Three E model as we strive to teach the whole child cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. Our students will...

  • Engage in Learning: Grammar - the initial stage where students learn the fundamentals of various content areas
  • Examine Information: Logic - the analytical stage when students begin to ponder and question information
  • Express Themselves: Rhetoric - the final stage where the information is brought to maturity through the expression and communication of new ideas relating to students’ previously gained knowledge

In this 5th grade lessons, students are demonstrating the "Express Themselves" stage beautifully through collaboration, creativity, and expression of their newly acquired knowledge on the "road to the American Revolution!"
We're also excited to bring the 4 H club to Trivium Academy, sponsored by Mrs. Pechacek and Ms. Coco!

What is 4-H you say? It stands for 4 H's...head, heart, hands, and health.

I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service,
and my health to better living,
for my club, my community, my country, and my world.

4-H club is a place where students in 3rd grade through 12th grade complete hands-on projects in areas like food, shopping, science, animals, gardening, and public service. And that's just a few! 4-H uses adult volunteers to guide and mentor students through projects. Here’s a quote from 4-H.org, “4-H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. For more than 100 years, 4-H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better.”

Being a 4-H’er is much like the mouse from the book “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie” If you give a 4-H’er an egg, they will want to learn how to cook it. When they cook it, it will make them wonder where it came from. They will want to learn all about Chickens. When they learn about Chickens their County Agent will tell them about the State Fair. The 4-H’er will take the chickens to the Fair. If the 4-H’er goes to the Fair, they might see a cow. The cow will make them want to learn all about cows. Learning about cows will make them wonder about how to use milk and meat when they cook. So, the 4-H’er will go back to the kitchen to learn.

Our first meeting is October 27th at 3:45pm (immediately after carpool).

Contact Mrs. Coco or Mrs. Pechacek for more information and how you can become a volunteer.
