Password Security
We will continue to focus on information security as we move through this school year. This month, we are focusing on password security. Here are a few reminders around this topic:
  • Always use a unique password for each program\website.
  • Don't use personally identifiable information.
  • Try using phrases or lyrics and adding random characters but don't place them in easy patterns.
  • Make sure passwords are at least 12 characters long and contain letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • LastPass is a great Password Management tool that has a free basic version for one device.
  • Check out the chart below for some "eye-opening" information on how easy it is to crack simple passwords.
  • After reviewing this information, below are links to directions on how to change your district password depending on the device used.

A Little IT Humor!

This month's humor reminds us of the importance of closing TABS when they are not in use. Having fewer TABS open will increase the performance and battery life of your MacBook!
