LGBTQIA Brunch will be held this Sunday, January 27 at 12:15 p.m. All those interested in attending are encouraged to invite friends and to meet near the reception desk to walk to a neighboring restaurant.

TwentiesThirties will gather for a SpeakEasy time of fellowship on Thursday, January 31 between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. at Replay in Lincoln Park (2833 N. Sheffield). This monthly gathering is an opportunity for young adults to connect with one another.

Books by Women will discuss Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate on Tuesday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the Bumpus Room.

To begin Black History Month, Father Michael Pfleger will join us on Friday evening, February 1. Pastor at Saint Sabina since 1981, Father Pfleger is a powerful voice for social justice in Chicago and beyond, tackling issues related to employment, gun violence, gangs, and access to health, education, and social services for his congregants and the community at large.

During his time with us, Father Pfleger will discuss his work at Saint Sabina and his perspective on our progress—or lack thereof—in the many areas of social justice to which he devotes so much passion and energy. There will also be plenty of time for Q and A.

Friday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m.
Buchanan Chapel

A Peloton bike is this year’s Gala of Hope drawing prize. The drawing will be held at the Gala on Friday, March 1—but you don’t need to be present to win! Drawing tickets are available during Coffee Hour on Sundays as well as online.

Do you have friends who would also be interested in winning the bike? Simply direct them to bidpal.net/clgala2019

Of course we also hope you will be with us at the Gala of Hope, the annual benefit in support of Chicago Lights—the community outreach arm of Fourth Church—and the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being.

The festive evening includes a three-course seated dinner, dancing to live music provided by the Ken Arlen Evolution Orchestra, a mystery wine sale, the drawing, and silent and live auctions featuring unique experiences, getaways, entertainment, and more.

Friday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m.
Radisson Blu Aqua (221 N. Columbus).
