What do they have in common?
April 5, 2020 | 11 Nisan 5780
Question: What do Rabbi Carl Perkins of Needham and Rabbi Leora Kling Perkins of Lexington have in common?
Well, any question asked before Passover deserves four answers, so here goes:

  1. Since their respective ordinations, they have each exclusively served congregations in New England.
  2. They've spent virtually (Hear that? Virtually?) every Passover together for the past several decades.
  3. They have become accustomed to, and love, the same Passover recipes, prepared in the same kitchen.
  4. And here's the final answer: Both rabbis will be leading a virtual seder on the eve of the first day of Passover, Wednesday, April 8th, TOGETHER

Yes, we are delighted to announce that what was going to be an exclusively Temple Aliyah gathering, will now be co-led by one of the rabbis of Temple Emunah and will include members of that congregation as well.

If you would like to participate, please join us!

We ask the following:

1.  Please register by  Tuesday, April 7th at 5:00 pm -- whether or not you are certain you can make it.   If — and only if — you register   will you be sent updated sign-in information,  including the password to use to enter the seder. Registration will be closed at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 8th. (Please note: even if you indicated an interest in such a seder in your response to last week's survey, you still need to register.)

2. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, please familiarize yourself now, ahead of time. If you have any questions, please be in touch with Marie .

3. Please download  now , well before the seder, one of the following Haggadot: Haggadah at a Glance by Rabbi Perkins and "A Different Night" by Noam Zion. These may be helpful to you during the seder.

4.  On Wednesday afternoon, please sign on by 5:45 pm.   We will begin with greetings and discuss how the evening will proceed. The seder will start promptly at 6:00 pm.  For security reasons, we will be closing the gathering shortly thereafter.

5. As we announced previously, we’ll be moving through the first part of the seder in about ninety minutes. Then, we’ll break so that everyone can eat dinner at their own pace and have the opportunity to continue the seder on their own after dinner.

We are looking forward to seeing and celebrating with you!
