"I joined the board in 2013 because I wanted to use my marketing expertise to do something good for the community. At the time I knew very little about foster care. I had no idea that once these kids turn 18 years old they are on their own. I never really thought what it would be like to not have the support of my parents growing up until I got involved.
I have learned that children in foster care have gone through too much pain and yet they choose to have careers as therapists, teachers, nurses, law enforcement, etc. so they can improve the lives of others. The most important thing I have learned is that these kids need our support and encouragement. If we don’t help them, who will?"
