Welcome to OICMF Scherzo (skert·sō/ noun: a vigorous, light, or playful composition)
The monthly newsletter of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival
Just a few of the many highlights of
August 6-21, 2021
Jeff Thayer, Aloysia Friedmann, Lachezar Kostov, David Grossman, Rodger Burnett, Dana Jackson, and Richie Hawley play the Beethoven Septet in E-Flat Major as part of our Beethoven, Interrupted concert on August 13 and 14

Sandy Yamamoto and Aloysia Friedmann were the interruption on Beethoven, Interrupted with a virtuosic rendition of Halvorsen's Sarabande con Variazioni (on a theme of Handel)

Everyone loves Piazzolla, and his Libertango for strings performed by Jeff Thayer, Sandy Yamamoto, David Grossman, and Aloysia Friedmann was stunning and sultry!

It was impossible not to smile at Beethoven's Music, Love, and Wine, played by Sandy Yamamoto, Andrea Bautista, and Lachezar Kostov and sung by those renowned operatic singers Gordon Koenig, Sharon Abreu, and Jon Kimura Parker
