Contractor Performance Incentive
The SoCalREN Multifamily Program is pleased to announce the Contractor Performance Incentive for all Participating Contractors. Two incentives will be available based on kWh savings achieved.
Please see the guidelines below:
$50,000 Performance Incentive: The first contractor to complete a new project (or combination of multiple projects) delivering 500,000 kWh in energy savings. Project(s) must be installed and completed in 2021 and cannot have been previously submitted through the Trade Ally Portal.
$25,000 Performance Incentive: The first contractor to complete a new project (or combination of multiple projects) delivering 500,000 kWh in energy savings. Project(s) must be installed and completed in 2021 and cannot have been previously submitted through the Trade Ally Portal. Contractors can use projects already in progress and enrolled in the Program to reach the 500,000-kWh goal.
Terms and Conditions
Project(s) must be installed and completed by an active SoCalREN Participating Contractor by December 31, 2021; 2020 projects or projects with 2022 completion dates are not eligible. One of each Performance Incentive is available, and one contractor company can win both Incentives. Participating contractors are automatically entered in the contest by submitting projects through the Trade Ally Portal. Project Completion is defined as when project enters the Final Application Review status in the Trade Ally Portal. Winners will be selected based on Project Completion timestamp from the Program’s Trade Ally Portal. In the event of a tie, the project with the highest therms savings will be the winner. Please visit our website or contact your Account Manager if you have any additional questions.

SoCalREN Multifamily Financing Program
The SoCalREN Multifamily Financing Program offers convenient ways for building owners to access funding for energy-efficient equipment installed through the SoCalREN Multifamily Program. This Program offers your customers the opportunity to fund equipment through an Energy Service Agreement—equipment is paid for using future savings and allows your customers to fund their projects without incurring debt.
We recently held three training sessions that allowed Contractors to get familiar with the new Program. If you were not able to attend one of the training sessions, you can watch or download the recorded presentation here. If you’re ready to get started, please reach out to your Account Manager to learn how to generate proposals for your customers.
We now have a flyer available that describes in more detail the Multifamily Financing Program. Contractors can utilize this piece when communicating with potential customers.
Would you like a Multifamily Financing Program flyer that features your company’s logo and branding information? Visit the website here to learn more about how to order at no cost to you.

Incentive Estimation Tool
A new and convenient tool designed to help estimate project incentives has been added to the contractor website under Program References and Resources. This Project Incentive Estimation Sales Tool will be particularly effective during initial sales conversations with customers to help showcase the benefits of participating in the Program. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions on how to locate and utilize this new tool.
Reminder: The tool only shows an incentive estimation and should not be considered as a final incentive.

Bright Power is an energy and water management partner for some of the country's most innovative real estate owners, investors, and operators. Their 150+ employees deliver deep value to all stakeholders in real estate through our integrated solutions at the property and portfolio level, including energy audits and feasibility studies, energy and water efficiency project design and installation, solar PV and battery storage feasibility, design, and installation, energy supply purchasing, compliance services, and incentive program management.
Since 2004, Bright Power has changed the built environment by dramatically reducing carbon emissions and improving building performance. Bright Power's experience in multifamily properties spans almost 100,000 buildings across the country, consisting of 2 billion square feet.
|
What is one thing you love about the work you do? Being able to mitigate a building's impact on the environment while benefiting real estate owners and their occupants is a triple win for us. We love that we can improve the efficiency of a building and positively impact people where they live, making their spaces more comfortable. In addition to working with market rate and luxury property owners, we also work with affordable housing properties that serve vulnerable populations. Our work not only creates a comfortable environment for vulnerable Californians, but the energy savings we generate can also help preserve affordable housing units and be used toward our clients' mission and services.
That was even more critical this past year. It was especially difficult between the pandemic, wildfires, and hazardous outdoor air quality. Peoples' homes became their offices, schools, and more. Thus, even the smallest energy efficiency improvement could have an outsized impact on their comfort and wellbeing.

What is your favorite part of participating in the SoCalREN Multifamily Program? Programs like the SoCalREN Multifamily Program enable our clients to make impactful energy upgrades with a higher return on their investment. It incentivizes our innovative and sustainability-minded real estate owners, investors, and operators to continue to push the needle in implementing energy conversation measures. It also makes it easy for those hesitant to try new technology to take the plunge.
We also really enjoy working with the SoCalREN Multifamily Program Managers. Their dedication to the Program and sustainability allows solution providers like Bright Power to serve more building owners and operators. In turn, more Southern Californians benefit from the installed energy efficiency improvements. They make it clear that our success is their success.
|
What has been your favorite project over the last few years?
Designing and installing heat pump water heaters and helping real estate owners begin to electrify their properties is inspiring. With California's climate goals, real estate owners need to strategize how they can contribute to a net-zero future. Our work with innovators and early adopters means there is a roadmap for other real estate owners to follow suit.
