We know you have heard and read many messages about the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has changed our world, perhaps forever. The pandemic has certainly changed how we gather ... how we connect ... and how we engage. Again, maybe forever and at least for some time.
Finding an opportunity to engage amidst the challenges
So, what do you do if you want to carry on with your project but you know you still have to connect with your stakeholders?
You do what we did with FKA Agency for a
southern Alberta municipality's road reconstruction project.
We carried forward collaborating with our clients through Zoom and completely changed their public engagement plan to online. The business and service organization stakeholders on the street appreciated the online Zoom meetings we helped facilitate, they supported moving forward with the project, and reconstruction is well underway.
You also do what we did for the
Strathcona County Waste Management Roadmap Public Engagement Project.
We carried on collaborating with our Strathcona County clients through Zoom, changed the public engagement plan to totally online
for now
, and we are just a few weeks away from launching the plan online.
We helped the County change from an in-person education strategy to inform before engagement and now a video and animation will introduce participants to the process.
The new path ahead ... for now
The way we see it, it may be more important than ever for projects to continue, if feasible, to give people the opportunity to get back to work, as long as it's safe. Don't let the inability to engage with stakeholders get in your way!
