2022 Homecoming Weekend at WKU
WKU’s Nightmare on Normal Street 2022 Homecoming activities kicked off today with the Chili and Cheese Luncheon and Pep Rally at Montana Grille. Other events included this afternoon's NPHC Facility ribbon cutting and this evening's Honoring Jonesville reception from 4 to 6 at the Kentucky Museum. Friday’s events include the Munday Hall dedication at 9:30 a.m., the Hall of Distinguished Alumni induction at 11:30 a.m., and the Homecoming Parade at 5 p.m. followed by Big Red’s Roar. Homecoming Day on Saturday will feature numerous reunions, events and tailgating with WKU Football vs. North Texas at 2:30 p.m. The Homecoming queen will be crowned at halftime. Here are some reminders about Homecoming weekend, including event parking and traffic:

Gordon Ford College of Business Dean recognized for service
The Southern Management Association (SMA) has awarded Dr. Christopher Shook, Dean of the Gordon Ford College of Business, the James G. Hunt SMA Sustained Outstanding Service Award (Hunt SOSA Award). The award, presented at SMA's Annual Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, is considered SMA's highest honor and most prestigious award. "I am extremely honored and humbled to receive the James G. Hunt Sustained Outstanding Service Award, SMA gave me the opportunity to develop as a scholar and leader, and prepared me to be Dean at GFCB,” said Shook.

WKU supports launch of new Metals Innovation Initiative
WKU is a core partner in the launch of a new nonprofit organization with a mission to foster innovation in Kentucky’s growing metals industry. The new organization, the Metals Innovation Initiative, is a Kentucky-based nonprofit that provides collaborative, industry-led executive leadership to attract and promote advanced research, sustainability, commercialization, and talent development in Kentucky’s metals industry–and, ultimately, for Kentucky to be seen as the preeminent destination for metals innovation.
Philosophy Club to host Haunted Tour on Halloween
Want to meet a dead philosopher? If that sounds spooky, but not too spooky, join WKU philosophy students on Halloween for an interactive tour through Cherry Hall! In every room, meet a new dead philosopher whose scary smart theories have influenced every branch of knowledge throughout history. The Haunted Philosophy Tour will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
