Greetings & Love from your SWFL RESET friends.

As SWFL recovers from Ian, RESET has some timely CONVERSATIONS to help...

Join us Tuesday, OCTOBER 25th at 6 PM

RESET CONVERSATION:

"Recovering from Ian with Regenerative Agriculture"

with Gene MacAvoy, via ZOOM

Tuesday, October 25th - 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Recovering from Ian will take time. As we reach out to our neighbors to help, one of the many things on our minds is the impact on our gardens, local growers, and our food supply. The land gives so much to us, and giving back helps us #BeAGoodRelative.

Join us online TUESDAY the 25th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a RESET Zoom Conversation as Gene McAvoy, Associate Director at the Southwest Florida Research & Education Center provides a post-Ian status report on our Ag community and shares how regenerative agriculture practices can help restore the soil and our gardens.

"Artist Talk -Through The Garden Path"

with Lisette Morales and

Lupita Vazquez Reyes via ZOOM

Tuesday, November 13th - 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Down the Garden Path tells a visual tale of how two Latinas, Lisette Morales and Lupita Vasquez-Reyes, have come to connect with nature and their roots through a food garden located near downtown Immokalee, Florida.

Although both Lisette and Lupita see the garden through different lenses, their cultural past and present collide when at the garden.” - Description by Maria Plata author of “Roots of Immokalee”

Saturday, NOVEMBER 26th from 10 am to 3 pm

Please join us for a day of community, sharing, and learning the Saturday after Thanksgiving!

A Great Way to Spend a November Saturday.

Join us as we welcome local plant and seed vendors, and knowledgeable permaculture experts on the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Myers for a celebration of the abundance and nutrition that is available to all from seeds planted in family and community gardens.

FESTIVAL OF SEED & PLANT VENDORS

Attendees will enjoy perusing vendors offering plants and seeds to stock up for their own gardens - or find the perfect holiday gifts for loved ones promoting life and health.

EXPERT FARM & GARDENING SPEAKERS

Throughout the day, guests can learn from expert talks and presentations on planting and sustainable growing that will benefit your diet, health, and the environment through proven and regenerative best practices.

SEED, CUTTINGS & PLANT EXCHANGE:

It all begins with seeds! Are you a seed grower or saver? Bring your seeds, seedlings, cuttings, and plants to swap and share your bounty with others - or donate to help put them in community gardens and on the tables of those in need.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A VENDOR?

We are adding to your list of vendors pertaining to gardening, planting, and growing and would love to have you. If you would like to have a table, submit this vendor request and we'll be in touch with details.

FUN FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY:

Tickets are free, however, a donation of $5 for adults to attend is encouraged and can be accepted on the event day. All proceeds will go to defray the costs of the event and bring more events to you from the SFWL RESET Center.

RESET CONVERSATION:

"Post-Ian: Will We Build A More Sustainable Future?"

with Edwin Everham, Ph.D. via ZOOM

Thursday, December 8th - 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Or will we just build back FAST? As Southwest Florida rushes to get back to “normal” after the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian, many are justly asking if our old “normal” was good enough.

Join us on THURSDAY, December 8th, as Edwin “Win” Everham, Ph.D., from the Department of Ecology & Environmental Studies at FGCU leads us in a discussion on steps we SHOULD be taking to rebuild, and what we should be doing right now to protect our environment and our communities from the ravages of increasingly dangerous climate disasters.
