Tabor Home Outbreak Update
Our hearts go out to all those who have lost loved ones during this season. Our hearts are breaking alongside all of these grieving families. When residents move into a Tabor Village residence, they become like family. To lose one family member is heartbreaking, but to lose over twenty is a devastating tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with our entire Tabor family during this time.

- Active cases: 1
- Total COVID-related deaths: 25
Staff

You may have noticed a drastic drop in active resident cases, which is GREAT news! Our Clinical team got together today to review every resident's health and the timeline of those who had tested positive. After a very thorough review, we saw that we in fact no longer have multiple active cases, but rather only 1 active resident case with 66 residents having made a full and complete recovery! We are overjoyed with this wonderful news!
This is not only great news for these residents and you as their families, but great news for us all as it means we can finally see some much needed light at the end of this tunnel. Thanking God for this news and His protection over these people. Praying and believing for healing for all those who are still sick with the virus. May they recover quickly and fully and may this outbreak come to an end soon!
COVID-19 Testing
We are continuing our weekly swab testing of all staff and residents. The next day of testing is tomorrow. Please join us in praying that ZERO test results come back positive. We want 100% negative test results and we are choosing to have faith and believe that will happen this week. Please pray.
Let's Talk Christmas
Christmas Decorations
Christmas decorations are permissible as long as thorough hand hygiene is practiced before and after decorating and routine cleaning continues.
Food
Important Changes for Food Deliveries:
- All food items should fit in a standard grocery bag size to minimize clutter in rooms.
- Food items that are prepared at home should be packaged in single-use food containers that can be sanitized upon arrival and discarded. Family and friends dropping off the food items should not expect their containers to be returned.
- It is preferred that any food item that is brought in should have a longer shelf life, does not require refrigeration, and is non-perishable.
- Food items cannot be shared between residents.
- Every item brought in a disposable container should be wipeable and labelled with the resident's name, room number, and date delivered.
As long as these safety guidelines are followed, tenants get to enjoy all the homemade traditional Christmas baking you/they would like.
Gifts
Gifts that are new products delivered in a disposable bag are permissible. Potted plants and vases are acceptable. Please have flowers already in a vase with water. Staff will then sanitize the vase and it will be delivered right away.
Clothing & Essential Care Items
Any clothing that is brought in for residents should be brought in a disposable bag and it will be laundered on-site before giving to residents.
All essential care items such as soaps, lotions, etc. should be new products.
Best Practice for Drop Offs
Every item brought in should be labelled with the resident's name, room number, and date delivered.
We Must Do Our Part
As cases continue to rise across the province, and with the recent orders from Public Health, we strongly urge you to do your part in keeping yourselves, your family, and the community safe. Stay home as much as possible, keep your distance, wash your hands, don't go into anyone else's home, only socialize with those in your immediate household. This is hard, especially given the Christmas season that we're entering into, but the safety of our loved ones depends on it.
