As you may know, Institute is going through an exciting period of transition. We've bid a bittersweet goodbye to our founding Executive Director, and are hiring for exciting new positions. We are going through org restructuring and visioning for the fiture. Over the last few months, and continuing through the next, we have also been undertaking steps to strategically evaluate what we do to make sure our work has the most meaning and impact in preventing violence in our communities and improving safety for survivors.
Throughout it all, we are learning to adapt our outreach, services, and training to accessible and safe online spaces. If you are invested in our work and mission, we hope that you will help us out by:
- Letting us know what you'd like to see from us! Training topics, publications, resources, messaging, and more
- Letting us know what aspects of our work have been useful to yours
- Telling us about what the communities you work with are experiencing: emerging trends, dynamics, barriers, and solutions
- Sharing with us the challenges your organization is facing, and what types of support you need
- Telling us when we fall short in making our work accessible and meaningful for all populations
This process is long term and ongoing, but we are committed to this movement!

Economic Impacts of COVID-19 Data Dashboard is live!
The pandemic has had an immense impact on how survivors of domestic and sexual violence, particularly those from marginalized communities, are able to access critical services like economic support, healthcare, and legal help. Browse the interactive Data Dashboard, prepared by CSAJ, to get data from 608 service providers across the county, and to filter for responses from culturally-specific agencies, immigration/legal services, and more.

Upcoming webinar series on trauma-informed care for AAPI survivors!
We are excited to be collaborating with four AAPI community organizations and shelters on a series of webinars to understand the impacts of trauma on AAPI survivors and communities. Presenters will share insight about working with survivors in shelter and through immigration and legal cases; and discuss best practices for providing culturally-specific, trauma-informed services, especially during this difficult time.

Immigration policy updates:
Congress has passed three COVID-19 relief bills so far, but none provide crucial targeted relief that would specifically benefit immigrant families, including immigrant survivors; dedicated funding for many hard-hit survivor-serving programs; or sufficient funding to truly meet survivors’ needs. This is especially alarming knowing that during this health and economic crisis there has been an increase in interpersonal violence!
