Effective Friday, June 11, use of face coverings will be optional both indoors and outdoors on the Horizon Honors campus. Students enrolled in Club Horizon or participating in athletic activities over the summer will not be required to wear a face covering on campus. In addition, face coverings will not be required for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

Face coverings will continue to be required for all community members on the Horizon Honors campus until the end of this school year (Wednesday, June 9) and at all on-campus and off-campus Horizon Honors High School Graduation events (Thursday, June 10) except during the following activities:

  • Outdoor Physical Education classes
  • Outdoor recess
  • Outdoor lunch breaks (beyond when students are not eating)
  • Outdoor staff duties when not in close proximity to other community members (Ex: traffic duty)

These decisions were made after consideration of the current COVID metrics and survey results from Horizon Honors families and staff members. Mitigation strategies are subject to change depending on future community spread.

  • We will receive a list of students & the amount of funds, so students do NOT need to bring anything with them.
  • All sales will have tax added to them 8.6%.

Online students will set up an ewallet account, as well. Please send in your order via email. The order form we are sending home will have an optional, how would you like to receive your order. Online families can drive by to pick up. The Media Center will set up an appointment for them.

COVID-19 REMINDERS

Siblings of Sick Students:
If a student is sick AND/OR awaiting COVID-19 testing results, we require all siblings to also remain at home.

Drop Off:
We are excited to allow Elementary School parents to walk their students onto the campus in the mornings! However, please remember that all parents (and students) are required to wear a mask while on campus grounds, even if they are not going inside our buildings.

Stronger Together:
If you would like to check our case count or find information on mitigation strategies, the information is always available on "Stronger Together" website.

If you have any questions or need to report a possible COVID-19 case, please reach out to our Health Office at health@horizonhonors.org. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to keep our community members healthy and our campus open.
FACE COVERINGS UPDATE:

Use of face coverings for STUDENTS and STAFF will be optional during the following activities:

  • Outdoor Physical Education classes
  • Outdoor recess
  • Outdoor lunch breaks (beyond when students are not eating)

Use of face coverings for STAFF will be optional during the following activities:

  • Outdoor duties when not in close proximity to other community members (Ex: traffic duty)

Please note that face coverings are still required for all community members during pick up, drop off, and during class transition times when students may be walking outside. Also, face coverings will continue to be required inside campus buildings until further notice.

These decisions were made due to the improved COVID metrics and concerns regarding the health of students and staff wearing a mask outside as the weather becomes hot.

Please pack extra face coverings in student backpacks, as coverings may get dirty during the day. Again, the schools will not supply face coverings.

Face coverings MUST:
  • Fully cover a person's nose and mouth.
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face and under the chin.
  • Remain affixed in place without the use of one's hands.
  • Not have holes except for band-style masks when actively playing an instrument.
  • Not be face shields. However, face shields may be used in addition to a face covering.
  • Follow the "all clothing and accessory guidelines" dress code guidelines. Elementary School Dress Code
  • Be laundered regularly or disposed of appropriately.
